4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Very quick and simple hardware and software install. Works great. Beautiful video and stills. Simple to use but...

Cons: The layout of the software is really poor in regards to menus, buttons and navigation. Some things are hard to find. The menu across the top is annoying because it scrolls, and the most annoying thing is that the menu for record/stop/photo/etc disappears after you take your pointer off it. The record button should always be visible so you can click it instantly.

Other Thoughts: The most important thing was that the board worked well and the video and audio were good. I have to ding it one star for the poor layout of the menus and buttons in the software.

1 out of 5 eggsridiculous

Pros: n/a
Not going to be buying it.

Cons: I cant believe what I just read in the reviews..
Some guy got a defective cable in his box and they refused to fix the issue.. even replied this to him:

"Manufacturer Response:

Dear Customer,

Since the AV input dongle cable you have is defective you can purchased a new cable from our online e-store"

If you are going to sell stuff, don't steal from people.
This guy paid good money for a working product
This comment just guaranteed that I'm not going to be buying anything from this company..
Their official policy is "We sold you useless junk, maybe you buying more junk from us will fix your issue"..

4 out of 5 eggsA-OK

Pros: No lag from my PS3/PS4 to my computer, so I can play full 1080p live-time.
1080p Recording on my PS4 (YOU NEED TO DISABLE HDCP ON THE PS4 VIA SETTINGS).

Cons: The only thing that REALLY REALLY BUGS THE HELL OUT OF ME is that the software included does not support external microphone or webcam recording support while you record the video input's audio.
Also, you need the software edition that comes with the box. A newer edition downloaded off their website seems to not work with the playstations.

5 out of 5 eggsBest Capture Card

Pros: Works really well with Windows 7. Captured movies are really crisp depending on the source.

Cons: Capture application could have been better. Needs some getting used to.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks great but need correct Drivers !!

Pros: With the older/oldest drivers it can record HDCP content - driver ignores the copy protect signal. See internet for those Driver versions.
Also, you might want to put the 'priority' of the process to 'real time' this might prevent or lessen any stuttering &/or 'affinity' and make sure it is using all your cores !!
Also, capture using Mpeg2 (H.262), uses less CPU and less stuttering than mpeg4 (H.264) !!

Cons: Needs a strong CPU PC, and stop running any other process/app that uses any CPU !!
Card uses an PCI-express slot, so make sure you have a spare !

Other Thoughts: Video Capture is a 'real time' occurrence, so why do you wonder if some stuttering occurs, Winblows, Linus or Mach OS are NOT real-time OS, so you must make sure you prioritize the capture process (not so subtle hint to the OS) or have a huge excess of cpu and fast HDD - its called PC 101 guys !!

1 out of 5 eggsdo not reccomend

Pros: high data transfer rate
price

Cons: there is a horrible delay when recording high resolution videos from hdmi.

if you plan to record ps3 /ps4 footage, don't count on it. this card doesn't support hdcp

the software is a nightmare. let me to tell you how it works.

first you open the software, and everything seems fine, a bit cheesy, but fine. you go to the capture page and the program crashes.

3 out of 5 eggsPut it in an x16 slot.

Pros: It runs well in an X1, though it can't stream well unless it's in a higher-up slot. I ended up testing it in my Gfx card slot, and it worked great there. For some reason, it bogs down while streaming otherwise.

The software is simple and it works, sometimes.
It decodes HDCP (I assume, as it loads up PS3 video)
The quality's good, though 1080i is only alright but that's what you get here. (Not that consoles can even use that)

Cons: Do you like crashy software? Because you're going to get crashy software. When loading up video from the PS3, occasionally it crashes. And when I say crashes, I mean it stops working, closes out, and keeps the task running.

So end it with Task Manager, right? Wrong. Doesn't work. Ending process will do nothing for you, you are forced to restart. Better luck next time right? Wrong, because guess what it's probably doing to do when you load the computer back up?

If not for that vicious crash-loop cycle and it bogging down for really what should be no reason while streaming (What is it doing, making multiple copies? Shouldn't the load be on my computer, not the card?) , it would be pretty alright. Wish I could disable those stupid bars on the screen in another way than making my mouse sit still, though.

Other Thoughts: That crash-loop is mind-destroying, though. My other reviews are.. not entirely accurate, I would've edited them if Newegg would get with almost every other site that has posting in existence and make an edit function, but I guess that's too much to ask out of a site for TECHNOLOGY (Of which that gripe is relevant to, clearly).

5 out of 5 eggsOne of my best purchases ever

Pros: Use if for hdmi input of my tv box.
Componet input for my Wii.
I like the software with it. It is reliable and works.

I HIGHLY RECCOMEND.

Cons: Software that comes with it is not very fancy.
Wish it had even more inputs

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Runs smooth, sound's good, capture's not bad, etc.

Cons: When you try to stream with it, it stutters like a person with Parkinson's having a stroke. It's about as bad as it gets.

Other Thoughts: Thought HDCP was to blame for problems but as it turns out it's just that the software was made by hilariously incompetent developers and since it's proprietary sourced there's no way for anyone to un-break their junky program.

2 out of 5 eggsOh boy, more proprietary bull.

Pros: It's quick and works well as long as you're only attempting to get footage to exist on your screen. Sound's good, video's good, etc. It's cheap too, I guess.

Cons: HDCP. You're going to have to jump through every hurdle physically possible (and even some that don't) to even be able to try streaming with this.

Do not bother if you intend to stream, your only options will be to get tricked drivers (and good luck finding them), to use Component/RCA/etc (Which are terrible, and you could buy something way cheaper for that), or to suck it up and never actually stream (Then why did you even bother buying this).

It is very much not worth the money you will be paying and hours you will be devoting to try to make this thing work. It will not.

The software is total unredeemable garbage as well - It looks like it was made in the 90s and runs accordingly. It does function and fairly easily, but since it's extremely proprietary (Just like HDCP is), you're never going to find a better alternative.

Other Thoughts: I wanted to stream some gameplay off consoles for my buddies that are far away, but it looks as though I'm never going to be able to do that because of a hybrid of the utterly terrible program and worthless HDCP. You're better off not even bothering.
