Pros: It does what it said it would, delivers TV to my pc.

Cons: I don't think its specific to this device but dealing with tuners seems like a minefield of issues. I'm a rogers cable subscriber in Canada thought I would be able to dodge many of the problems I read about online.

I wanted to be able to watch and record tv in my bed on my laptop using a set top box in my living room (have the living room tv hooked up to the same box). I have run into HDCP issues I didn't see coming. My set top box is hd and connected to the TV by hdmi. Unless the tv is on at the same time I am watching on my computer the connection will be killed displaying the hdcp error message.

I may be able to figure a way to fix this eventually but I haven't so far.

The other major issue is bandwidth. I have a decent router and this thing just massacres bandwidth, if I am watching TV on my latop other computers can't surf the internet- at all. It's extreme.

You also require a near perfect connection quality to the router or it lags.

Other Thoughts: Would not reccomend buying. I don't think its this devices' problem specifically I just don't think this technology is quite ready. There seem to be alot of kinks to figure out.

HDCP limitaiton is only when you use HDMI cables to record to your computer. Since connected he HomeFree AVplus using s-video or component you should not encounter issues with HDCP. We have done estension testing with HomeFree AVplus using multiple routers and did not encounter issues with the video quality. Pros: Very easy to set up, good video transfer speed

Cons: No HD on Android tablet and no Ipad app available

Pros: I like this new toy very much. First off, easy to install the driver, I have Windows 7 Media Center at home, have antenna for my home tv. But there is no TV outlet around my PC. So this is a great solution for me. Installing the driver is easy, go thru Windows Media Center setup, get the channel scan complete and watch digital tv on my pc. Connects the s-video and audio to my DirectTV receiver, tape down the IR blaster cable by receiver’s sensor. Installs their application and go thru the IR learning process with the DirectTV remote, now I have full control and watch all the programs I want with both DirectTV and my free to air HDTV on my PC. It is very simple to use, easy to setup and a really good product. I also use that with my iPad 2, download their app from the App Store. Setup is also easy, just follow the instruction on iPad 2, very similar to the PC setup. Now I can watch HDTV or DirectTV on my iPad 2 anywhere around my house.

Cons: Not much really, wish it has HDMI or Component input so it is full HD from my DirectTV receiver. It will be better if it is WiFi, but I am ok with LAN as well. The S-video input video doesn’t show on Windows Media Center, only to their application, if they can address this bottleneck, this product will be fully awesome.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, if you have iPad2 and PC with Windows 7 Media Center, Plus a rooftop antenna to get HDTV at home, get this, you will not be disappointed. I am now using Media Center to record all my TV shows, save me a bunch to buy season DVD after all. It is a very reasonable price and newegg fast delivery is a big plus for me.

Pros: Easy to setup, just follow the connection diagram. I have the hardware connected with my rooftop antenna to get digital TV and the RCA connected with my DVD player. Download the HomeFree application for iPad at Apple store. Turn on iPad HomeFree Apps, it sees the tuner right of way. Do the channel scanning and remote learning from my DVD player. After setup, tab on the apps, live TV comes up, good video quality, good price and meet my expectation.

Cons: I didn’t get all the major channels from my antenna (like channel 2.1 HD 1080i channel, I do get channel 2.2 and 2.3) on my iPad. Read their user manual and phone their technical support. Understand that it is iPad limitation, and they ask me to install their application on PC, the HD channels will come thru. Haven’t try it yet, I bought it mainly use for iPad, will try it later when I have a chance.

Other Thoughts: I used to own a location free tv from Sony and use it very often. But it doesn’t work anymore (LCD crack), didn’t want to get something too expensive. It is a good buy, wish I can also get HD TV channel on my iPad, but the technical support guy told me only iPad2 is capable to decode HDTV. Anyway, nice product, not too complicated to setup, from now on, my kid can use the ipad to watch their video and PBS and I can have the big screen to watch what I like. Highly recommended if you own a iPad and want to watch live TV around your home.
