5 out of 5 eggsperfect for our recording needs

Pros: cheap price; easy install; cyberlink software

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: this card connected perfectly via s-video cable in our church a/v room. (haven't tested the audio input of the card, because we just record the audio straight from the mixer via Line In to the comp). the drivers loaded easily and recording via windows movie maker is easy.
cyberlink producer 5 and director 4 are nice software to have too. especially producer because it conveniently turns the files ready for DVD

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Value

Pros: For the price, this was a great value. I purhcased this to convert VHS tapes to DVD. I paid $10. Works as stated

Cons: I had to make a cable to connect to VCR The directions are lousy, but through trail and error, anyone can figure it out.

Other Thoughts: Well worth the money

4 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: Very inexpensive for item category.Has worked without trouble 2+ years.

Cons: Stiffed by Kworld on rebate. No response to emails.Software included is pretty poor.I use a different program with it.

Other Thoughts: I purchased this to burn my VHS-c camcorder tapes to DVD.It has done that reliably without problem.I needed to download newer driver to improve performance. If you need an inexpensive card for simple tasks this one does the trick simply.

2 out of 5 eggsHated it.

Pros: None except it was cheap.

Cons: Maybe just me but the capture quality was horrible. Not supported very well.

Other Thoughts: Went back to a old ATI card over this one.

4 out of 5 eggsworks great

Pros: Easy setup, low price. Does what they say.

Cons: There seems to be a conflict with the audio input. If I have a microphone enabled and the PVR input to my sound card, the microphone function gets disabled. I have to restart my microphone driver.

1 out of 5 eggs720x480? How???

Pros: Cheap. Being able to select 720x480 must cost extra however...

Cons: -Poor driver because it appears impossible to select 720x480 in any video capture applications.
-The latest driver is dated 2005. (The product is from 2004.)

Other Thoughts: I'm surprised newegg still carries this. I ordered one in late 2005 and it had a rebate. (Don't think I ever got my rebate money...) I've just now installed it. If you're wanting to do some low resolution captures on older machines this card can manage it. If you are wanting sharp 720x480 captures of your VHS tapes then you might want to keep looking because I'm beginning to think its claimed 720x480 is just upscaled from 320x240. I never tried the software that came with it. "Power Producer 2 Gold" never seemed at all appealing. I tried capturing with "Debut" & "MPC Home cinema" but couldn't get them to change the input to 720x480, no option for that resolution was made available!

The only options I get are (I420/RGB16/RGB24/YUY2/YVU9) and (320x240 NTSC / 352x288 PAL)

If anyone knows how to get 720x480 I'd love to know...

4 out of 5 eggsVHS to PC

Pros: Nice card, super cheap. Got it to watch VHS cassettes on my PC monitor.

Cons: Sometimes it is a pain when I am redesigning the pc because of its size. Difficult to find drivers if there is no cd around.

Other Thoughts: Hi-Def VHS?

4 out of 5 eggsGood Card For Money

Pros: Very cheap, easy configuration, includes software and all cables.

Cons: The card seems a little long, which somewhat interfered in my case's cabling, but nothing major. I get the idea that there may be better quality cards out there. Seems not to include drivers for audio capture, only video.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card to be cheap and to work so that I could rescue an ageing collection of VHS tapes. It handles this well. Use the drivers on the CD, they work fine. (Windows XP SP3) I would recommend using the free STOIK Capturer to record instead of the included software. You will have to record the audio through some other device, like your mobo audio.

3 out of 5 eggsKWORLD X-Pert DVD Maker PCI Card

Pros: Works as advertised - in other words, it does work, unlike some unuseable K-World Products

Cons: It's an average card - perhaps slighly below average.
