Other Thoughts: Drivers can be difficult to install if you don't have much experience. Don't assume anything, and be sure to read the installation instructions included in the box.

Pros: Works like a charm.

Cons: Took over two hours to figure out what driver to download - and where to get it. The box was I/O Future, the company support was koutchech.com. However, the search on koutech.com for card or driver yielded -0- results.

On the box was a sticker saying the card was "Vista 64-bit / Win 7 ready" -- but the driver install instructions in tiny print on tiny paper did not include Win 7. Instructions also referred to Netmos.com (which was acquired by Moschip in 2001 - in fine print on instructions... 2001!)

The CD (came with card) containing drivers is ridiculously mysterious - folders are numbered, (with a Netmos reference... netmos.com is a malicious site now...) Each of the numbered folders (about 6?) on the CD have individual folders for the OS where you find the driver. Only thanks to the NewEgg direct link to Manufacturer Driver download, I was able to finally get it -

BUT I am using Win 7 64-bit and installed the Vista 64-bit since there was no Win 7 driver on the site. Using a Samsung ML-2151-N printer with updated driver -- recognized printer as ML-2150 Series PCL-6. Worked fine right away, no hiccups so far and have printed for a couple of days now.

You cannot beat the price - that's one reason I persisted - but it was a pain researching solution (koutch support did respond quickly to my email, but it was 24 hours after I got the driver installed / working)

Pros: Easy to install.

Cons: Can't think of any.

Other Thoughts: I considered some type of USB adapter to extend my use of an HP Deskjet 722. The printer was migrated from an 2003 XP system to a Vista 32-bit system. I didn't even bother checking the mini-CD for drivers, I downloaded the drivers from the website. The printer works fine with this card. I'm pleased I bought this instead of a USB/Parallel adapter. Good value.

Pros: Works great for adding parallel port to newer computers that no longer have parallel port for legacy printers.

Got my HP 710c printer up and running on Windows 7 x64, but it was not plug and play. See other thoughts of how to get your HP deskjet printer running in Windows 7 x64.

Cons: The installation disk has all the drivers needed for about any operating system, but is not user friendly for the average joe. If your a technician you will have no problem sorting through everything and doing a manual install with device manager to get the card installed.

At least they put a little piece of paper in the box directing you to the proper folder on the cd. The driver disk could use improvement for a more automated install process.

Was not the card pictured above, parallel port was black and came in future box.

Other Thoughts: For an HP 710c printer I had to install a patch for the printer driver before it would work otherwise the print spooler kept crashing. The paralell PCI was functioning fine once installed but the printer would not operate in Windows 7 x64 without the patch.

Do a google search for "hp 710 windows 7 x64 patch" and that should give you a hit for an HP support page that has the download patch.

Pros: If you load Sentinel Protection Installer, version 7.6.3, then you can access old Sentinel Pro parallel port keys connected to this board without any special configuration (aside from loading windows drivers of course). Earlier drivers from Sentinel did not work.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: My system is running XP Pro.

Pros: Works good to add parallel port to motherboard...helps to keep our church printer in use for a while longer. CD had all drivers I needed (even for WHS), so installation was quick and easy. Also, the price was right and shipping was quick. Thanks Newegg!!!

Cons: Installed quickly, found printer, but could not print at first - was even more confusing that I could not print.

Turns out the port installed as LPT3 instead of LPT1. Once I figured that out, all was well!

Pros: Lets me use old DJ500 workhorse in XP computer which had no parallel port. Board is cheap, delivery was on time and, once the instructions were decoded, installed easily. Koutech technical help was knowledgable and helpful and resolved the problem within minutes.

Cons: Installation instructions are worthless. Even with the addendum, installation instructions remain unclear.

Other Thoughts: Take home message - look on the chip on the board. That number is the number of the folder on the CD that your drivers are in. I wasn't smart enough to figure out the problem, called Koutech help who directed me to look at the chip and then go to the folder by that name. Koutech help was knowledgable and helpful.

Pros: Cheap.
Works great on Windows 7.

Cons: Needed to go to manufacturer's website and download the Vista driver for this card to be recognized under Windows 7.

Pros: Excellent; works as advertized. It's my WinXP 64 bit that is a problem. But we got it all sorted out.

Pros: Works well. I am happy with its performance
