Kuotech's 5 port card lets you add a lot of USB ports in one simple step. This 5 port card will plug right in and give you the ports you need. Just plug it into an available PCI slot and turn your system back on. Your system will do the rest.

The handy internal port lets you attach card readers or other devices. The four external ports let you keep cables for your camera plugged in all the time. You can also plug in a spare flash drive to improve performance with Windows ReadyBoost.

Pros: Another reviewer says "You can not expect a USB 2.0 to run higher than what your Motherboard was made for." Wrong! In spite of his/her professed "high" tech level, the whole idea of a 2.0 add on card in an older machine is to give better performance. The card runs off it's own chip, not the motherboard chip set. This card will (and does) provide 2.0 performance on an older 1.0/1.1 machine.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: If the card fails to perform at 2.0 speed, odds are you haven't loaded the high speed usb drivers for your OS.

Pros: Great works with Ubuntu 8.04

Cons: None that I can think of

Other Thoughts: I'm using this card with my old Dell Dimension XPS B800r with Ubuntu 8.04 running. I was kinda worried about it not working because i couldnt find any info on if it worked or no but it did and the odd thing it even works with my 2.5in ext HDD that the old 1.1 usb wouldnt find But hay LOVE it worth the price for a NIC chiped card

Pros: Windows 7 automatically installs drivers. This card is a great way to supplement the USB ports in your computer.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I was having issues with my iPhone syncing to my computer. It was always timing out. Contacted Apple - no ideas on their part. It wasn't the issue where recent mobo's had to update their firmware to sync - this was a totally different issue. Installed this card and everything works perfectly now.

Bummed Out

Pros: Was cheap.

Cons: Didn't work. The card froze my machine. On the first boot it detected it but did not install correctly. Then I couldn't go back and load the correct drivers. On the very next boot my machine froze at the Windows startup screen. I had to pull the card back out. I swear it even blew out my sound card which sounds odd but my sound card did not work after I installed this card. I have since installed a different sound card and it is working after one failed attempt to get it recognized. Usually stories like this one I am skeptical but that's the facts.

Other Thoughts: By DLink or a reputable brand name.

Pros: So simple! Plugged it into a spare PCI slot and turned on the computer. No driver install was necessary. Windows XP SP3 recognized it right away and it was ready to use.

Also, Newegg shipping was lightning fast. Purchased on Friday, received it on Monday.

Cons: None!
