5 out of 5 eggsDoes its job

Pros: Price

Cons: Internal port angle, no BIOS support, Can't get into BIOS with a USB keyboard. KB only works in Windows.

Other Thoughts: My 2yr old computer lost ALL USB ports for some strange reason (tried every fix in the book). Figured I would give this cheap card a try. It works! I've loaded it with a mouse, kb, webcam, and wifi adapter.

4 out of 5 eggsDon't lose the disc it comes with!

Pros: Works perfectly so far, no problems with any USB devices I have tried through this card. Personally I always prefer to add a card than to use a USB hub, but again, that is personal preference. So this meets my needs/desires well!

Cons: Not so easy to find driver software if you don't have the disc it comes with. Not much in the way of identifying marks to find which thing to download. I almost want to tape the CD envelope to the card to guarantee it is never misplaced. Not such a negative tho.

5 out of 5 eggsreally good.

Pros: I opened the case. Put the board in a PCI slot. And turned on the computer. Easy. No drivers to load. The computer recognized the USB ports. I plugged a webcam into one of the new ports. Everything works great. I don't know how they can make a PCI card for this price.

Cons: None.

1 out of 5 eggsCauses mobo failure

Pros: 5 ports, cheap

Cons: Causes mobo failure, will not boot

Other Thoughts: Installed in a motherboard that previously worked. After installing it the mobo failed to start. After I removed it, it booted just fine.

5 out of 5 eggsClassic G4 Compatibility

Pros: Card works in Classic G4 Macs. I personally Tested on Sawtooth under OS9, 10.2, Quicksilver, and MDD models under 10.4, and 10.5.
The angled board allows for better airflow and internal port can be used for an internal bay card reader mod etc.

Cons: USB cards have been know to cause sleep/resume/wake issues with or without a USB drive in an available port although most agree NEC chipset is usable on these, don't expect full 2.0 speeds on the older OS's but 10.4 on up performed well in my tests.

Other Thoughts: These give you the ability to connect slightly newer technology to these decade old machines. I wanted to use a SDHC USB reader and these cards work well for those tasks. Don't spend too much keeping a G4 going, but a souped up G4 can still keep up with a Vista era entry level PC and blow the doors off of a netbook, but thats not saying much!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy for cheap USB addition

Pros: Good number of slots for external addition. I was able to use the internal one on a front card reader and free up another USB slot on the back.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Newegg continues to deliver.
