PCIe and FireWire, what's not to love? The PEFW310 from Kuotech has 2 external and 1 internal FireWire ports. There is a 4 pin power connector to provide adequate bus power. And besides you've got to do something with your PSU's floppy power connector after all.

Pros: My card worked immediately for me with XP. Unlike my last firewire card, this had decent instructions included for troubleshooting.
Cons: No drivers included, although I didn't need any.
Other Thoughts: I needed to replace my PCI firewire card because of conflicts with a new TV tuner card. This did the trick.

Doesn't deliver 400mb/s

Pros: No problems with installation on XP- automatically recognized. Probably works fine for most applications.
Cons: Appears not to handle the full 400mb/s specified in the firewire spec.
Other Thoughts: We tried to use this card for a machine vision camera that pushes the limits of firewire bandwidth. This card worked fine until we started pushing it up to higher resolutions / framerates that approach firewire limits... it was maxing out around 360mb/s, while a PCI firewire card in the same machine would go the full 400mb/s.
