2 out of 5 eggsReally only capable of two monitors

Pros: It can power two monitors at 3840x1080 (Full HD for two 1080p monitors) at 60hz.

Cons: I bought this so that I could connect my three Dell E2414H up to my Alienware M18x R2 at 5760x1080 resolution while only using the mini DP. When you hook three monitors up to this device, it can only power them at a lower resolution. It was close to the resolutions that I used 20 years ago. I believe it was 1365x768 per monitor. The icons are huge and you can see the pixels. The reason for this is it only supports 5760x1080 at 50hz and very few monitors operate in that mode.

The Matrox software is complete junk. I downloaded the latest from their website and it caused more problems than it helped. Once I uninstalled the Matrox software and connected another cable, I was able to use the AMD Eyefinity feature of my 7970Ms to combine the Matrox 3840x1080 logical monitor with the third 1920x1080 physical monitor. This gave me the full 5760x1080 desktop that I was after, and allowed me to game at 5760x1080. The stupid thing is that I could've done this setup without using the Matrox at all. If you're trying to setup 5760x1080 on a similar laptop, just use the VGA, mini DP, and HDMI together. If you have three outputs and a video card that can support it, then you don't need this device. If you only have two outputs then this could be useful.

Other Thoughts: I had to update my AMD video card drivers in order to get Eyefinity setup as described above. Unfortunately Dell does a horrible job of supplying the compatible drivers, and the ones from AMD's website don't work. Your best option is the modded drivers supplied by "LeeKM". They work flawlessly for me. Titanfall, Left 4 Dead 2, Skyrim, Dirt, F1, and everything else I play works fine.

5 out of 5 eggsYears of service without major issue

Pros: Reading some of the comments made here I felt my own use should be posted. I purchased one of these Digitals back in 2005 from an online source. I have used this as part of a gaming setup to run 3 of the Dell 24” 2409 monitors at 5760 X 1080. It’s been attached to a few video cards with only some technical setup changes. Run on an EVGA 8800 to now a EVGA 560 Ti (both with water cooling). Yes, I’ve used this Triplehead2Go for years without major issue. These are simply awesome for FPS and Flight Simulator type games. Also great for doing research for my college work (working on B.A. in C.I.S.). It is so great to have three screens to work on stuff in while doing work.

Cons: Proper use does requires some technical or geek ability that others postings show some do not have and you MUST research the other parts your connecting it to. From the system board video port, the video card you plan to use, the monitors and the power supply to power it all up. You can’t put this on a generic wal’mart box and expect it to work without issue.

Other Thoughts: I've setup this thing on my main gamer system since 2005 and while I have had some technical stuff to deal with they have worked for years without issue and if you do your research BEFORE installing to make sure your whole system will work and run it then you will enjoy it.

I would upload a video but dont have one made right now.

1 out of 5 eggsComplete garbage

Pros: Compact in size.

Cons: Will not work with every setup, and Matrox tech support is horrible. Matrox products have always been known to be very flaky with its compatibilities and this one is no different. NewEgg nor Matrox will allow a return on this bad product.

1 out of 5 eggsDid not work

Pros: Installation was quick and easy.

Cons: Setup of the software (monitors / resolutions) was almost a complete disaster. Did not support resolution listed on Matrox site. Wanted it to be 1080p to match the 4th monitor via HDMI. Only one of the three displays ever displayed any video and was at 720p.

Other Thoughts: Just plugged the 4 monitors into the 4 ports on the video card (not on the Matrox), all 4 were at 1080p. Unplugged the Matrox until we need to exceed 4 monitors. Would have given this zero eggs if I could. What made it worse was the "No Returns" policy on this item.
