Pros: easy to install. i didn't not buy windows media center i am using the Hauppauge software win7tv. works fine for me.

Cons: i have AT&T U verse so scanning channels didn't work for me. plus i had to use the composite Cable the old Red White and Yellow cable. Had two comp hook up but could only use one. the remote is useless for me. yes the volume works the off buttons the pause, fast forward and rewind, stop buttons work fine. but i have to use my set-top remote to change channels. I should have bought their other Product (Colossus HDTV Tuner model 01414)

Other Thoughts: if you have AT&T Uverse Buy
(Colossus HDTV Tuner model 01414)
Is the same Price Around $ 129.00

Pros: All the tuners work great in win-tv and Windows media center. I live in orange county ca. and get 158 channels many in high def.

Cons: Remote does not work. I've tried everything short of messing with the registry and I refuse to do that. I may return it because of this. Or just buy another remote. Does not speak very high for my first Hauppage purchase.

Other Thoughts: I noticed from other reviews that this is a common problem. And it seems no easy fix is there, this just shouldn't be a problem in this day and age especially at this price.

5 out of 5 eggsBeyond Amazing

Pros: This device performs amazingly. It turned my computer into a DVR and with the large hard drives around today, this literally means almost limitless content. The remote and chip sync flawlessly with windows media center and allows me to peruse the TV guide from bed. The duel tuners allow me to watch and record at the same time.

Cons: It took some time to get this device working properly. Prepare for this and do not expect plug and play functionality. READ THE INCLUDED INSTRUCTIONS FIRST

Other Thoughts: This product is really amazing. Makes me wish I got more cable channels and that they were broadcast in higher quality at college.

5 out of 5 eggsIt Just Works

Pros: This card has worked from the day I first booted up my build and has not let me down since. I have used it with Windows Media Center as well as XBMC and it was very easy to setup with both programs.

Cons: The ir receiver for the remote is really short.

Other Thoughts: I use this in my dorm in college and would highly recommend it for a similar purpose. It is really nice to have a full tv guide and the ability to dvr shows in a dorm!

1 out of 5 eggsMedia Center Compatibility?

Pros: Physically, the device is nice. Packaging is professionally done. Easy to install.

Cons: Disappointing performance. Win7 software is unbelievable. I think there are some compatibility issues here if you are trying to use this device with Windows Media Center (WMC), and I don't think Hauppauge has the desire to fix them. I spoke with both their customer service and their sales department, as most of these issues are driven to correction by the sales department. Not so in this case. Now, every piece of TV equipment I own works on all of our local channels, except for, you guessed it, the Hauppauge dual tuner boards. I have two $40.00 TV converter/recorder devices, and even these record every channel in our area. Hauppauge seems to feel that if it sort of works with their Win7 software so everything must be alright. Well, why would anyone subject themselves to this inane operating system (Win7). It sort of works, but it is neither fluid or seamless. WMC works great, just not on many of our local channels. I have tried several signal amplifiers, but, not much help. Hauppauge may want to try to overcome the difficulty using their product with WMC, it's the only hope I see for their future when you have new products that perform well, and do so for considerably less money. The Hauppauge unit delivers service that is not consistent with the signal levels on certain stations. Why?

Other Thoughts: I recently purchased a Tablo from Newegg, I will be reviewing it soon, but my initial take on it, is that it works quite well. It is geared to people who want to use their computer to provide a service, while Hauppauge is for someone who wants to play with their computer.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: excellent quality and not too expensive. plenty of inputs, and fully functional and reliable

Cons: about a ten second lag from realtime streaming so videogames are a no-go and be patieant with your dvd player

Other Thoughts: i love it and it fits in my low profile case

3 out of 5 eggsWorks with Linux?

Pros: Hauppauge 2250 is one of the cards most people use to set up TV on linux systems. I have dual booted Windows and Linux for some time and decided to move to Linux for all my needs. This card does have dual digital capabilities and there are linux drivers/firmware for it.

Cons: After many hours trying different advice (you have to follow one after another until you find advice that works for your machine) on setting up this card on Linux I found that it only works well with stripped down versions of Linux. Setting this up on a fully functional and used machine is a mistake. (Maybe some can do it) and the picture quality is not as good as the Asus card it replaced even on W7.

Other Thoughts: I will have to set up a seperate computer for TV to allow the second monitor to run TV while I can work on the primary until either I have the time to learn how to use Linux TV software or it advances more which eventually it will.

3 out of 5 eggsVery insensitive

Pros: The card works as described.

Cons: Input is very insensitive. I'm using it with an antenna and there is 5 channels that the card can't capture when my 2 TV does it. I have to use an amplifier to get missing channels :-(.
Also the remote is IR (infrared) which imply that the remote has to see the sensor, always, and the cable is somewhat short.

Other Thoughts: I wonder if other brands could be better. I heard that ATI as already had a TV card with better sensitivity.

4 out of 5 eggsVery good card, not perfect remote

Pros: Works great with digital cable signal. I had to upgrade my Win XP Media Center when my cable provider went to all digital. I bought a Dell Inspiron 660s, G2030 CPU, 4 Gig Mem, Win 7 Home Premium OS. This setup has ample horsepower and small footprint.

Cons: The only issue is that the remote will not wake the PC. My USB mouse will wake computer. I tried many different settings to system configuration to no avail.

Other Thoughts: My old Win XP Media Center would wake from sleep. That computer had a USB Media Center remote. Next time I will order tuner card without remote.
