The Leadtek Winfast HDTV Cinema card conveniently splits the inputs into ATSC/NTSC antenna and cable/QAM so you only need to have one connection to view you analog and digital cable signals. There is also an S-Video in port for digital cameras, camcorders, VCRs, game consoles and DVD players. An adapter is provided if you need to send a composite signal. The single cable solution also carries the audio signals.

PVR software lets you record and pause live TV or record a program to watch later. You can also search the electronic program guide and schedule recordings for when you'll be out of the house. That way you don't miss any of your favorite shows. And with the large size of hard drives in today's computers you can record a lot more than with a standard set top box, and there are no monthly fees.

Once you've recorded your shows, or transferred them from other media you can edit them and burn them onto DVD or VCD. You can also save the files in PSP or iPod format for ultra portable entertainment.

3 out of 5 eggsthis is update review from what newbe posted

Pros: read my previous post

Cons: read my previous post

Other Thoughts: Turn out you don't need the program ORB to use the remote. The real problem is with the driver you are using go to Leadtek site to help you to direct the proper driver that use your specific remote.

3 out of 5 eggsGood Product, But need a little work

Pros: The device works like it suppose too. If you don't have a roof top antenna or cable then this card is pretty much not gonna so you what it can do. The setup of the software can be found at Leadtek site.

Cons: Lack of additional instruction for people who are not tech savvy such as what program is need for the remote.(it turn out ORB is the program name in the CD that came with the retail package also downloadable).

Other Thoughts: only gave it three eggs because the lack of user guideline and friendliness.

2 out of 5 eggsNot worth it

Pros: Easy to install. Comes with a half-heighth bracket. Drivers are easy to download and install.

Cons: Will not work as a QAM tuner. Digital tuner will work only if using an OTA antenna. Suppose to show QAM ONLY with included junk software which it never did. Leadtek tech support suggested it could be the cable quality but I have a Visio digital tv with displays several QAM stations. Avoid this product unless all you want is analog through a cable line.

Other Thoughts: I wanted a tuner card that would play both analog and QAM signals through a cable line using Vista's Media Center. Even with the latest drivers from Leadtek's website I got no signal. Only way I got any sort of signal was to upgrade to Windows 7 beta and RC1, and even then all I get is analog cable and no QAM.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Software loads easy, does keep 3 programs running but like other review said you can turn those off in msconfig startup if you know how. set 1 scheduled record for southpark everyweek, came in last night and was recording it so easy setup for that too.

Cons: cant adjust the size of the tv screen like my previous ATI tv tuners? can only be in a 6" boxed window or full screen only. my ati i could stretch to any size which was real nice.

Other Thoughts: will stick with ATI from now on, learned my lesson going the cheap way out on tv tuner. wouldnt purchase again after using ATI tuner, ATI did always have a small issue or something everytime i installed it but wasnt anything major, just needed to uncheck mute when loading up the tv and then it was all good.

4 out of 5 eggsDecent Capture card

Pros: Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
2gig dual core oc 2.67gig, 3gig ram
Bought this as my first tuner card. It installed very easily and the software loaded without a hitch. Media Center recognized the card on the analog input from my cable provider but not the digital. In response to how many programs it has running, the only one you need is the WinFast Wizard for the remote.

Cons: The digital tuner is weak to say the least. My tv picks up 13 digital channels and the card only picks up three of them.

Other Thoughts: Overall, I think that this card is well worth the price tag.

1 out of 5 eggsGreat hardware, very bad software

Pros: This is wonderful hardware, and it should be a slam dunk fantastic card.

Cons: The software to capture TV, and to present program guides is awful. So bad, the program guide doesn't work at all. This means no automatic recording of shows. No information about what is playing, no program guide.

Other Thoughts: Somehow these folks made wonderful hardware and combined it with some of the nastiest software I've ever seen on a PC product.

1 out of 5 eggsBe careful with Leadtek Rebates

Pros: N/A

Cons: I purchased a Leadtek TV2000XP/Expert card and submitted my ten dollar rebate request in October 2008. Leadtek confirmed receipt and validity of my rebate request in December 2008. Leadtek never sent the rebate and no longer responds to my rebate inquiries.

Don't count on your rebate.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat picture, software works ok

Pros: Great digital picture quality, Does everything you need it to. I wrote this review to let people know that unlike the reviews below, the included software WILL in fact let you make a resizable window, and be able to browse the internet and do other things at the same time.

Cons: Only cons are, for some reason, no matter how fast your computer is, it takes forever for the Arcsoft software to start the TV tuner. I know its the software because the card starts immediately in Windows 7 media center. The other thing is that on some channels you get a thin line that looks like static at the top, I think it may have something to do with overscan, but I don't know much about that. Also, minor, you will have to download a file to update the EPG so you can setup recording straight from the EPG listings.

Other Thoughts: For those that don't know how to get the resizable window to watch or record TV, you first have to go to the upper right corner and make the whole program work in a window, then when you hit the fullscreen button, it will fullscreen to that window, which can be sized as small or large as you want. I do this all the time to watch tv while looking at the web.
