3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Definately not bad for the price. Drivers and software have worked well for me. Reception is decent with TV and FM channels.

Cons: Not compatible with Windows MCE, lines in picture (even with s-video)

Other Thoughts: I bought this card as a starter, and that's about what it has been for me. Using it for PIP on my pc so I don't have to drag another tv in the room. Not bad to watch, don't try to record with it though! Unless you don't mind VHS quality..

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Cheap, but its not really a pro

Cons: THIS THING IS JUNK, the drivers are a pain to install, AND it causes windows xp to crash because the drivers arent capatable with XP

Other Thoughts: Spend more money, buy a good capture card, this thing is garbage.

1 out of 5 eggsNo good

Pros: New egg let me rma it and just told me to keep it and gave me a refund. I think they know this ones a stinker. New egg is the best.

Cons: This thing will not get channels properly with its own software. Chris tv pro will fine tune the channels in but let me tell u it is a pain to get them callibrated. The remote wont work with chris tv pro either and have fun buying it if u want this little card to work. Card comes not calibrated correctly it needs REALLY FINED TUNED with better softare

Other Thoughts: spend 25 and get the encore pro its cheap and it works.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy

Pros: Cheap.

Cons: The software bundled is unusable, the card is plain junk. It's cheap though, but save a little more and buy something nicer (Hauppage)

Other Thoughts: Forgot to RMA it and now I've got a card laying around.

1 out of 5 eggsStay away!

Pros: Bought one a year ago & that unit worked great... not so with this one.

Cons: Got this to replace an older Hauppauge w/o remote. Unfortunately, this card worked well for CATV viewing but had no remote functionality. The remote and sensor tests OK so it has to be software or the card. went with driver reloading, etc. Tried the web site. Totally messed up my drivers. The website support made it worse. Destroyed my USB drivers??? Will need to format the hard drive and start over! Reminds me of early AOL days!

Other Thoughts: Both your time and mine are not worth the money saved with this card. I trusted the mfr due to an earlier purchase, but they change hardware often so apparently its a crapshoot. Spend the money an a good Hauppauge product, I have 3 times w/o disapointment.

1 out of 5 eggsNever got it to work correctly

Pros: None.

Cons: Poor instructions. I routinely install parts in computers, so that didn't bother me too much, until I was unable to get this to work at all. So I uninstalled all the drivers and software, went to Sabrent's website and followed their instructions for installing on XP. I was then able to get a picture, but it looked worse then most signals from an antenna (it was a cable signal). Lots of channels did not come in. And quite often it would get stuck on a channel and no attempt at changing it worked. Any channel that did come in was accompanied by the high pitch noise as well. Never got the FM radio to work either. At random, the remote exited the program instead of changing the channel.

Other Thoughts: Wouldn't recommend this, even to someone familiar with installing computer hardware.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None.

Cons: Image freezes too often. Installed it on my XP system and CODECs got messed up to the point where I cannot watch DVDs anymore. Some ks.sys driver file is creating hell. Blue screen and all the works. I remove the card and/or uninstall the software then it works. I just removed the whole thing altogether but still can't watch DVDs so now I am left to deal with Sonic's Cineplayer side of things.

Other Thoughts: This product is not work buying. I had looked at the $xx one but decided to go for this one. Not worth buying. I can take a cheap product working with limitations but this one is just unstable and destabilizing.

1 out of 5 eggsA No-Buy

Pros: Can't help you there.

Cons: Never got a chance to try the actual card; WinXP 64-bit driver support is non-existent and the company has no plans for making a 64-bit driver at all. I tried sending a request for tech support to the company and haven't gotten a response (over a week). And if the software doesn't recognize the card properly, it completely flips out and you have to kill it off.

Other Thoughts: Very few TV tuner cards seem to support 64-bit OSes in general. I can't imagine why.
