SYBA PCI USB 2.0 4+1 shared port controller card Model SD-VIA-5U

Pros: I bought these and installed on a Gateway GT5028. Computer was having problems with all the on board USB's. I reinstalled Windows hoping that would solve the problem but it didn't. Search Newegg and found this product and picked up 2 of these for the Gateway. Now the gateway has 8 new usb ports for around 20 bucks. Client was happy and so was I. I did not have to use the disc that came with it as the gateway automatically installed it. Computer is running Windows 7 Ultimate 32-bit

Cons: None yet.

Pros: works good - used it ina couple of older desktops

Cons: none for me

Other Thoughts: transfer speeds about 1GB/min give or take
i think xp sp2+ has drivers built in

Other Thoughts: I got this for my Dimension 8100(I know, time for an upgrade). I upgraded from 4 USB 1.1s to 4+1 USB 2.0s I am using this card for the wireless adapter I am using to type this review. The card increased my wireless speed from 6.0MBPS to 30MBPS on average! RECOMMENDED!

Pros: Provides additional USB ports for a computer that only had 2. Now the user can hook up lots of stuff.

Cons: None encountered.

Other Thoughts: Needed the device. It installed easy. It worked right away. It solved the problem. Months later, it's still working fine.

Pros: It was cheap and installed without a hitch. Does the job it needs to do.

Cons: For whatever reason, one of the USB ports refuses to work> I tried plugging in flash drives, and Xbox 360 controller, and a printer and it wouldn't talk. But its not a huge problem for me...there's 3 more ports. So for that I only dock one egg.

Other Thoughts: I needed four extra ports cause, like most geeks, I just have too many USB peripherals

Pros: SMALL, EASY TO INSTALL. INSTALLED IN WINDOWS VISTA FOR A CLIENT. CD ROM DRIVERS NOT NEEDED. WINDOWS VISTA INSTALLED THE DRIVERS IN ABOUT 25 SECS. WORKS FLAWLESSLY!

Cons: SOME PEOPLE WITH LESSER KNOWLEDGE MIGHT GET CONFUSED ABOUT THE SHARED PORT!!!!

Other Thoughts: SETUP:
VISTA SP1, 2 GB MEMORY GIGABYTE MOTHER BOARD 478 SOCKET. CELERON 2.4 GHZ.

Pros: Small, budget-friendly, 4 extra USB 2.0 ports.

Cons: Cheap construction, horrible driver CD.

Other Thoughts: Ordered this for extra USB 2.0 slots and for hide our wireless keyboard/mouse receiver. Windows 7 recognized immediately, so the horrible driver CD (no installer, just a parent directory of files ranging from 98 to XP with about eight other companies' driver's included...) just about made a good frisbee toss into the trash. It worked well for the time in which it worked. It quit after being moved one slot down (to make room for graphics card that's coming soon). Newegg RMA to save the day.

Don't be stupid like me- make sure you're not going to move it from the first slot you put it in and it'll last.

Pros: Great full size and space saving card. I installed this into a Dell Workstation 410 server ( Yes, i know its Old ) and it found it immediately in Windows XP. USB 2.0 with the 480MPBS is functional and i have gotten pretty darn close to those speeds with this card. Well worth the money invested here

Cons: Box and description both say 4+1 Port. Be sure to understand that its 4+1 SHARED meaning you can install 5 devices all at once and think they will all operate. No biggie though, nothing to be stress unless that's what you desire.
