Cons: So far, doesn't work! I am trying to get an older canon lbp430 to work with the parallel port on the card. Windows XP is not cooperating!

Pros: IT WORKS, I can run my ancient printer! VISTA 64 bit compatible! Haven't got a chance to test the 2 serial connections. Paralell port works fine.

Cons: install a little difficult... probably more me than the card. Had to download latest drivers.

Other Thoughts: If your using an old printer, and this card dosnt work, its yor drivers. Also be sure to use the LPT3 (or highest number) for the printer, it is the one added by the card and thus gets the hihest number.

Other Thoughts: Needed this to recognize a parallel hardware license key. Installed card, browsed for driver on disk (see manual for location) accepted defaults. It will prompt for installation 4 times (once for controller, once for parallel, and once for each serial port). This was an easy set and required no reboot

Pros: Easy to install, Vista recognized it immediately and installed all the drivers in one shot, works perfectly with my printer.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: If you have a spare PCI slot, this is a great addition that keeps you from expensive cables or - perish the thought - buying a new printer.

Pros: Can you say NONE

Cons: Will not load drivers for Windows XP. Email there contact and it is dead. Can you say junk. Dealing with Newegg for refund. "Unfortunately, our records indicate that the manufacturer's parts warranty for this product has expired. Please contact the product manufacturer for additional service options". It said standard return policy. Will see.

Other Thoughts: Using the tips from newegg I got this device to work. I downloaded the drivers from Syba for the 9805 chip. It will detect and load the drivers, and then fail while trying to detect a Multifunction device. When this happens, device manager->reinstall driver->No Windows Update->Install from Specific Location. Now click "Don't Search", and click Multifunction Adapters. Here you can select the ECP driver which will install. the first choice does not work and is the cause of the installation problems

Pros: Solves problem! It works, for both parallel and serial connections.

Cons: Serial bit rate is entirely misrepresented.

Other Thoughts: I recently popped this card into a new XP Home computer that lacked parallel port...and needed same for an old printer that lacks USB connectivity. Installation was rapid, convincing, and effective. It works. I used the "mos" driver set that I had downloaded some 6 months ago, as I have lost the CDROM...which was probably not current, anyway.

Pros: none

Cons: Simply put: this product doesn't work. I'm running XP SP2, d/l latest drivers but won't install correctly.

Pros: Fit right in, worked great for XPsp2. It undid a dumb mistake on my part--buying a motherboard that didn't have a parallel port for an older printer...

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Price is right, software is reasonably good, no problems with installation or use.
