Pros: Great design to take advantage of the PCI Express riser I wasn't using. Drivers were an easy install on Win XP. Internal 1394a port worked great with my Echo AudioFire 8 Interface.
Cons: Called in RMA because of a defective external 1394a port. Now I'm waiting for close to 2 weeks to get my card back. Too much hassle for a "new" product.
Other Thoughts: I have to use the external port. Besides, all ports should work on a new product. Either more thorough quality checking or more robust ports would help.

Don't Get for Firewire Audio Interfaces

Pros: This card may work for basic firewire applications, I did not test it.
Cons: I purchased this card due to the TI Chipset. However it would not work with several audio interfaces. These interfaces are somewhat picky so consult your manufacturer for an acceptable card.
Other Thoughts: Otherwise it seemed to have the necessary ports, I only needed for a specific application.

Pros: Noting
Cons: Never worked. Don't waste your time buying.
Other Thoughts: Does not work on vista as stated in the specifications.
