1 out of 5 eggsHD Compatible? Not for Comcast.

Pros: Newegg was awesome enough to let me RMA it with a refund close to the end of the 30 day refund period. I bought this while moving and it took me a few weeks after receiving it before I was finally able to install it. Good thing I didn't wait any longer!

Cons: The fact that I had to RMA it at all...

Do your homework before you buy a HD tuner card if you're going to use it with unencrypted QAM broadcast via your cable company with no cable box.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card to use with one of my older* computers as a DVR to record unencrypted QAM HD broadcasts via my Comcast basic cable package. I have limited basic with only local channels--so I don't have any cable boxes. My 37" HDTV picks up the local HD broadcasts by tuning into channels 3.1, 3.2, 10.1, 40.1, etc.

I installed this card with no hiccups, ran the set up program... and noticed that it wasn't picking up any HD channels in the auto-search. I also noticed the remote doesn't have that "." to let you tune into the HD channels (like my TV does).

If that weren't enough to RMA it, my computer* would also randomly shut off after I installed the card. I no longer had this issue when I removed the card and uninstalled the drivers/programs. What a waste of time and money...

*- my specs: Windows XP Pro SP3, Intel P4 3.0ghz, 1gb DDR400, ASUS P4C800 (875 chipset), Radeon x800, and Soundblaster Audigy 2 soundcard.

4 out of 5 eggsDoes the Job (For a Good Price)

Pros: Includes easy to use software, a handy remote control, and a line input which is handy for recording live video game sessions. The quality is good and it records programs with ease.

Cons: Cannot get the TV Guide to work because it is web based, it used to work and now it simply states that it cannot find the address given. Also, make sure you have a strong cable signal or else the picture WILL be affected.

Other Thoughts: Good capture card for the money, reliable and well built with easy to use features.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Product

Pros: Works fine. The quality is just as good as what I would have gotten from a TV. I read that someone said that there is no audio with analog TV. I don't know whats wrong with his setup but my audio is fine with analog.

Cons: Sometimes when I schedule for a TV show to be recorded it disappears or it just crashes when it tries to record.

Other Thoughts: Buy a really good antenna or your digital TV will be so horrible..

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: You can watch ATSC TV on it and record FM radio.

Cons: No sound with analog TV, FM radio only plays back if recorded (cannot listen live), bundled software doesn't really work well and is not intuitive. TV that I was able to see was not high quality, and it stuttered to the point that I just couldn't watch it (even in HD, even though I have a high end graphics card and good processor). Guidebook that comes with software is completely useless. MSI/TotalMedia websites contained virtually no information in FAQs, so there was no way to troubleshoot (product is too new to have widely available info from other sources).

Other Thoughts: I attempted to use other PVR software suites, but none of them worked either. I spent hours painstakingly updating EVERY driver on my computer, tweaking all related settings, and trying everything in the book to get this card to work, but I just couldn't get it working. There is no audio out on the card, and recorded FM radio played back just fine, so I have no idea why it won't play live (same with analog TV). Will be returning.

2 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Decent ntsc picture quality.

Cons: Could not get the atsc to work at all, the remote died after 1 day of use, and I could not find any settings to adjust brightness or contrast.

Other Thoughts: Returning it.

5 out of 5 eggsjust love it

Pros: This device is great. it took some time guessing my way around it, but i am one of those people who would never look at the direction. only took about an hour to have TV running on my PC. reason for buying it was because i upgraded my OS to media center 2005 (old tuner wasnt compatable). comes with its own software

Cons: realy none that i saw. just a great piece of equipment

Other Thoughts: media center not needed to run this

4 out of 5 eggsNot Bad

Pros: Reasonable documentation, all the stuff you need to get started right in the box.

Cons: I thought the recording quality wasn't great. It wasn't terrible, but not great. Otherwise not bad for the money.

Other Thoughts: I discovered that you had to have your signal to the inputs ON when you booted the PC, in order for the card to sense the signal.

4 out of 5 eggsOverall satisfaction for the price range

Pros: Hardware seems stable. Package came with everything needed to install professionally. No lockups, screen freeze or studdering during live tv viewing. Excellent clarity. Easy TotalMedia 3.5 software/tv setup. Auto searches channels and the software is easy to understand. Feature rich yet easy to use.

Cons: Software bundle came with program(s) that auto installed during the initial software and driver quick installation. These turned out to be unwanted spyware type programs that caused many hours to be spent trying to clean my system up. This was very frustrating. Audio studders when running some programs while viewing live tv and while recording a program. Audio studdering also occurs during playback.

Other Thoughts: I reinstalled software without using the quick install and in doing so was able to avoid the irritating spyware. Actually installed each required program from the directories located on the CD by simply browsing the disk. Installed driver, TotalMedia and Remote by using the setup program in each folder respectively. My system is higher end and exceeds all the system requirements so I am hopeful I can resolve the recording and playback issues.
