3 out of 5 eggsOnly purchase if you have an AMD card!!!

Pros: Apparently works wonders with AMD cards.

Cons: This adapter did not work with my GTX 750ti. It produced a "black bar" on the left side of my screen and it appeared to alter the resolution of that monitor even though in Windows the monitor was set to 1920x1080.

Other Thoughts: I called tech support and was told that they do not test their products on nVidia products! THEY ONLY TEST ON AMD! So if I were you, I would stay away from VisionTek unless you have AMD products to go with it.

As a side note, finding out which adapter I needed(passive or active) was an extreme headache. I run 3 monitors and I do not have any interest in 3D Surround or Eyefinity, I just simply want three monitors for more workspace. I ended up buying a passive DVI to DisplayPort cable after this one and it works just fine.

tl;dr You only need an ACTIVE adapter for (a) 3D Surround/Eyefinity or (b) you're running higher resolutions than 1920x1200 (this one is what I believe, not something I've tested).

Minus one star for not working with nVidia products, and minus another for not explicitly stating that these adapters should only be used on AMD technology. It would be nice if they said that you should only purchase this item if you own AMD stuff.

5 out of 5 eggsworks with no problems

Pros: Product was not DOA and worked like a charm on the first shot. have not had any troubles or weird screen anomalies. Had free 7 day shipping but got to my house inside four days from ordering, not bad.

Cons: wish they were a bit cheaper but what can ya do...

Other Thoughts: got it cheaper here than my local comp stores but had to wait a bit for eyefinity. completely worth the wait.

1 out of 5 eggsFailed, RMA'd, failed again.

Pros: I managed to get three monitors to work once on my Raedon HD 5800.

Cons: After rebooting it stopped working completely. I RMA'd and the replacement did not work once. Waste of time and money.

Other Thoughts: Still looking for an active DP adapter that just friggin works. Sadly I've been disappointed with several types that I've tried. I'm thinking of avoiding ATI for now because of how horrible the quality control of the DP adapter market is.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Great quality, does what it says. Zero issues with standard 60 hz monitors. Great price as well.

Cons: Cant get it to work at 120hz. I assume that most dont support it. Wish the details were a bit more clearer in that aspect.

3 out of 5 eggswould not work for my eyefinity

Pros: cheap

Cons: would not work with eyefinity 1440p

Other Thoughts: Purchased this to run my eyefinity setup because i thought any "active" adapter would work. Thats not really the case, this may work for some people perhaps in lower resolutions but i could not get it to work for me at all. I ponied up for the expensive accel adapter, with a separate usb power cord and it works flawless for my 7680x1440 setup. Product quality seems fine just did not work for my application.

5 out of 5 eggsfixed my problem

Pros: works well at 1920x1200 through KVM

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I had an older, passive adapter that was giving a blank screen on my desktop monitor when connected to a new laptop (though it worked fine with an older one). This new adapter works perfectly with no signal issues, even passing through my KVM.
