4 out of 5 eggsGood OTA Tuner

Pros: Excellent tuner for OTA DTV, gets clear QAM cable with Fusion supplied software.

Cons: NOT compatible with Windows7 Media Center for clear QAM cable, Fusion software very sluggish, it freezes and locks up, slow to response. Tech support doesn't exist.

Other Thoughts: Good tuner for the price, compatibility with Win Vista/Win7 very questionable.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't Buy This Itemt

Pros: Did play TV channels

Cons: Sound was a big problem. I have a HDMI plug from the computer to the TV. This card could not navigate a additional audio device.
Never got the s-video, Line in....etc to work...

Other Thoughts: I spent ours messing with this card. Finally bought a Hauppauge card at BB and it fired up on the first try.
The card manufacture support page does not have a phone number

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Reception

Pros: The XC5000 Silicon Tuner is very sensitive. I can receive channels that my other cards have problems with. (pcHDTV HD-5500) That is pretty much the reason that I bought this card.

Cons: This card has only 1 tuner, which seems kind of wasteful as there are other cards with 2 tuners. But I was limited to PCI slots (this card is PCI). There is a DViCO FusionHDTV7 Dual express card, but it's PCIe

Other Thoughts: I use this card on my linux server & mythtv. It works fantastic. I cannot comment on it's windows software.

5 out of 5 eggsBest in field

Pros: I live in a very difficult reception area - close to the stations but behind 30 storey buildings. This card brings in every OTA station perfectly. (New York City)

Cons: The IR remote receiver was missing from the package. There is no response from Dvico or NewEgg. I run linux so I have no comment on the included software, but the drivers are in the kernel. The only addition is the firmware file.

5 out of 5 eggsgood tuner

Pros: this tuner works well for cable qam, found over 125 channels. I tried Hauppage, Pinnacle, Kworld tuners, but this one is much better. good remote

Cons: manual was lacking details for setup and operation, but went to website to find help

3 out of 5 eggstoo many nagging issues

Pros: Works reasonably well with included software--picks up quite a few stations on an amped antenna in difficult reception environment. Also worked with analog cable (again, when running on included software, FusionHDTV). Image quality is good.

Remote works with Vista Media Center out of the box.

Cons: I don't know whether it's a knock on the device or Media Center, but there is a big disparity in functionality between the included software and what Vista MC can do with it. FusionHDTV software can configure the card to work with OTA and analog cable. The Media Center only recognizes OTA tuner. It does not let me get any channels from cable. Further more, for OTA antenna, FusionHDTV can detect and actually display a lot of channels then MC. I don't understand why that is the case--it's the same hardware, same drivers. I'd want to use MC for everything, but now I have to switch between applications if I want to watch TV in order to get the max out of this device.

Other Thoughts: Separate issue is support in Mythbuntu. I originally bought this card for a Mythbuntu box after I looked around forums and saw other people have success with dual tuner version of the same card. No such luck for me. I followed instructions of other people who claimed this card was working on their Myth setups, but could not get anywhere. If you buy this card, expect to jump through some hoops if you wanna get it working on linux, if at all.

3 out of 5 eggsGood capture card

Pros: Just as describe on the box & website, QAM picture is good as the quality it is provide by the cable company. Turns off PC when recording is done. Turns PC on or off with Remote, You only can power the PC up with the remote if you used the remote to power it off otherwise it will not power back on. Remote functions as advertise. Part of the remote also glows in the dark & somewhat during the day.

Cons: Only 1 format encoded unless you use the converter proggy(not a big issue for me). Remote only plugs into the hardware card & the wire is way too short-4’ I believe, would be nice if it was USB so I can option to use it as a stand alone on my other PC also, the remote could be bigger & buttons could be bigger & location of the main key function could be at a better & easier location, come on now I have a full grown man size hand not baby hands. Channel name/title can’t be changed like Hauppauge, maybe hopefully they have an update that we can put our own name/title we want on that channel number & listing & manual fine tuning. Channel that you delete will not stay delete like the Spanish channel since I have no need for it. EPG can use a better GUI fill in field layout & option; like point & click listing to auto set record from Titan TV. One nice thing is I would be able to print out cable listing would be nice also. A few other option would be nice but I will have to address it to

Other Thoughts: At first I was hesitant at buying this brand but after review in forums & review finding out that Asus & Fushion is both from Korea so it was a no win win situation & I have to order it only since no local store carries them. Both review/complaint was about the same also. I option this brand only because of the advertisement of the remote can be used with other PROGRAMS, this was the biggest seller for me so I option this brand & not regretting it at all. I used this for about 2 weeks now. I would write more but the card does what the box says so there is no need for me to say more. Except for the Con that I need address, this is an excellent card. Just wish I could have bought the dual recorder version but I don’t have an express slot. My built box MB GF7050VT_Mv1A, CPU E2200 4gb ram - card then moved to Dell GX270 2.4ghz 1gb mb mini tower.

I put this also in my Dell GX270 2.4ghz 1gb ram 5400rpm drive & the limitation is that it cannot be powered back on with remote(MB limitation)

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card!

Pros: 1} small size means it should fit next to large video cards.
2) great over the air reception
3) qam reception is crystal clear
4) software is good and included.
5) low enery use and low heat.

Cons: You cable company and the content providers. This is not a knock on the card, but many cable channels are now encrypted so you and I can't see them without renting a device from cable company and can't record them either. There are now some solutions coming available, but a home theater pc, for all of its potential has been severely sabotaged by the content providers and where a $50 card should be all it takes for cable only, over the air is included because that is only signal that has not been really blocked in some way. This does diminish the value of all TV tuner cards and takes away our rights to fully enjoy technology. Our gripes should not be with these cards, but with those that have stripped down our right to use these cards to their fullest potential.

Other Thoughts: If you need help, the avsforum is a great place to go, simply scroll down to home theater computer discussion and topics from which cards to use for linux or xp or vista are well supported and there is some very good advice available.

I have moved my various tv tuner cards around in different rigs I have built and this one finally allows me to use a card in machine that one would not fit in previously next to older 7900 GTX with one of those thick Thermaltake after market coolers. It really helps that card ends at end of pci slot.
