5 out of 5 eggsWorks as designed

Pros: Works perfectly to host a 3rd monitor off of my Latitude's docking station. This is a work/productivity application and has no issues running this class of applications.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: I cannot comment to its behavior for gaming, but I would never recommend USB anything in the demands of a gaming application.

5 out of 5 eggsUse this daily, enterprise user

Pros: I use this daily to run my #3 monitor on my laptop. No performance issues, just works.

Cons: not quite sure why it comes with a travel case. I'd rather pay $5 less and loose the case / retracting cable.

Other Thoughts: I've used several USB video adapters and all but this one have had performance issues. This one you could sit down and use my laptop and not know which monitor was the USB vs the docking station video outputs. Videos, large documents etc are no issue for this adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsExternal Video Adaptor

Pros: Can be used for multiple applications. Small, appears easy to use.

Cons: This device will not work on older Mackintosh computers. I bought it to use in a Macintosh G5. The release notes state that it only works on Intel based machines so it doesn't work for the reason I bought it. That may be my fault but I didn't discover this until I had made the purchase. You really have to read the fine details.

Other Thoughts: I was all set to return it for RMA but realized the hassle wouldn't be worth the effort. I can't honestly give lower feedback because it may work for what it was intended and I suspect, I'll find a use for it sometime down the road. They may even add the proper drivers for my Mac. sometime. I see Newegg raised the price of it since I bought mine so, should I ever need one, I would have to pay more.

5 out of 5 eggsgets the job done

Pros: Cost effective way to add an extra display. Mac install is very simple and uses the native display preferences to adjust settings. Supports rotated displays which I use for reading documents.

Cons: Cursor on the extra display is not as smooth as on the laptop or the secondary display. I thought about dropping an egg for this but it really isn't that big of a deal.

Other Thoughts: Running OSX Lion and the most recent stable drivers from Display link. Could not be any easier. Mountain Lion may still have a couple issues.

1 out of 5 eggsWorks but does't work

Pros: Smooth image, Good color, Easy to setup

Cons: When I was first installing the driver it blue screened my computer! Then after getting the up dated driver I noticed that the screens would blink on wake up and some times during use and when this happens it messes up all of your desktops and open windows. Then if your computer goes to sleep... when it wakes up not all the screens will come back on, sometimes. Only the one connected through this device will. A reboot is needed to fix it!
Some programs will crash when it is in use. i.e. Chrome does it alot
I have all the updated drivers. This device is just junk!
When I disconnected it from my computer, BOOM every thing works great again. This was the problem!!

5 out of 5 eggsWow! Perfect!

Pros: Works exactly as described on my Lenovo 430 desktop.

Cons: The only negative (if I REALLY had to come up with one) is having to use up a USB slot. I was initially sketical of the manufacturer's box.

Other Thoughts: I was expecting to spend quite a bit more for a graphics card, etc. until I found this. Highly recommend! I wish I had ordered more than one now.

5 out of 5 eggsExactly what the Workplace needed

Pros: I had a second monitor set up on a computer from 2003 (P4, 1.5gig ram, little hp office computer). It worked GREAT!!

Was the exact solution the office was looking for to add dual monitors to a few of the old computers we have. Better than a PCI video card in that I can always move it to another computer if they (employers) decide to upgrade, even though the video card might have been the immediate better option. So this adapter will have the Long term viability our company was looking for without the limited lifetime of a PCI card mated to a very old computer that very badly needs upgraded.

Also, there is not much lag at all, we even tested it and it can play a windowed youtube video easily. Set the monitor up immediately in the native resolution.

I just couldn't be happier with this product.

Cons: I wish the USB cord was a bit longer so I could sit the adapter on top of the desktop instead of on top of the computer case, but not a big enough deal to drop an egg.

Other Thoughts: If you are in our shoes with an older computer, and several employees asking for dual monitors, then this solution is great in the office place. I think this adapter will be able to handle what we will be throwing at it.

4 out of 5 eggsAmazing

Pros: Extra video output for my laptop. Good price. Smooth quality even for videos. Retractable USB cord. DVI along with a VGA adapter. It even has Windows Aero!

Cons: Retractable USB cord feels cheap and is short. When playing full HD video it needs to apply some compression that is slightly visible. There is a very slight latency (only a few milliseconds) sometimes so the mouse doesn't feel completely natural.

Other Thoughts: Other reviews have complained about how the video quality wasn't smooth, but I have a great difference. My laptop has a great video processor and CPU (Geforce GT 540M, i7 2nd gen.). I blame the quality problems that other people are facing on low end computers that can't handle the extra monitor.

The USB cord feels like it's going to be the first part to break, but I know that can be replaced easily. I like that it's retractable, but that comes with disadvantages (e.g. bulkiness, fragile).

Overall it's a great product. My laptop can only output to two external monitors natively, but I have a 3rd that I wanted to use.

I have not tried it on Linux or OS X yet. I have used it with Windows 7 64-bit and Windows Server 2003.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat way to add monitors

Pros: Great, easy way to add additional monitors. I have four monitors total and two are on these. No Lag when switching windows between them, and has very good resolution.

Cons: I wish it had a longer USB cable.

Other Thoughts: I have a lot of extra USB Mini-b cables and had a longer one I could use instead. Most of you will have one too.
