SIIG’s Low Profile PCI-1P adapter is a cost effective and reliable solution for adding one high-speed, 25-pin parallel port to your PCI-enabled desktop computer for connecting additional parallel port device. It supports EPP/ECP, BPP (bi-directional), and SPP (standard) parallel port modes and PCI IRQ sharing to reduce IRQ conflicts. This single parallel port adapter comes with an enhanced bend-resistant bracket to ensure a more secure connection to the system. Designed to work with 32-/64-bit, 3.3V/5V PCI and PCI-X slots, the Low Profile PCI-1P adapter is the ideal solution for low profile system chassis installations to enable additional parallel port device connections.

The Low Profile PCI-1P fully conforms to PCI V2.2 universal card standard and IEEE 1284-1994 Parallel Port Standards. It is also FCC Class B (DoC) & CE regulatory approved and RoHS-compliant. The Low Profile PCI-1P is fully compatible with a wide variety of Windows operating systems.

The printer works fine on an different computer. Tech support suggested I RMA the card and try another. This adds a week or more and more cost to this build. The driver CD that was included only went up to windows 2000, but the manufacturer's website says it will work with windows seven, and it does. fast, easy installation. Cons: The manufacturer states that the card includes mounting brackets for normal and low profile. I only received the low profile bracket. Makes it hard to install the card if the right bracket is not available. I was able to make up a bracket, but I feel that the card should have both brackets as advertised. The product installed in no time flat (about 5 minutes from opening the package until I was printing). No hiccups in installation at all. If you want to keep your legacy printer and have a low profile PC, this is the way to go. Thanks for such an awesome product. Cons: Absolutely none :) Other Thoughts: Purchased this to "replace" a USB to DB25 cable that never worked.
