SIIG’s CyberSerial Dual PCIe is designed to add two 9-pin serial ports to PCI Express-enabled desktop computers. This PCIe serial adapter comes with two high-speed 16950 UART serial ports to support baud rates up to 15 Mb/s, and its built-in 128-byte buffers dramatically increase data transfer rates especially under Windows’ multi-tasking environment. The serial port can work as either a standard RS-232 port, or can be configured with 5V/12V power output for devices that require power such as handheld scanners, table scanners, POS displays, etc.
The CyberSerial Dual PCIe features a 4-layer PCB (with separate layers for data and ground) to greatly reduce signal noise and loss, and enhanced bend-resistant brackets to provide a secure connection to the system. Additionally, this dual profile serial adapter works with PCI Express slot with different lane widths and with the included low profile brackets, the CyberSerial Dual PCIe can be installed in either standard height or low profile systems.
SIIG’s CyberSerial Dual PCIe is powered by Oxford chip and conforms to PCI Express Base Specification, Revision 1.1. It is also FCC Class B (DoC) & CE regulatory approved and RoHS-compliant, and is fully compatible with a wide variety of Windows operating systems.
Add Serial Ports to Computer Powered by Oxford OxPCIe952 chipset, the SIIG JJ-E10D11-S3 adapter card instantly adds two 9-pin RS232 serial ports (one onboard, one through connector header) for easy connection to a rich variety of serial devices such as modem, PDAs, and more.
PCI Express Interface The utilization of PCIe interface guarantees compatibility with the latest computer system, and offers adequate bandwidth for bottleneck-free data transfer.
This review is from: SIIG CyberSerial Dual PCIe 2 9-pin Serial Ports (16950 UART) to PCI Express System Model JJ-E10D11-S3
Pros: Finally found one that actually works with Windows 7 (32 Bit Professional). Tried 3 different cards and a USB serial adapter to no avail.
Cons: A bit expensive for legacy technology. Lost marks because of this.
Other Thoughts: Newegg still rocks!
