4 out of 5 eggsGood but...

Pros: Bought this to add a third screen to my docked laptop. I typically run my Outlook on this screen and it works great for that.

Cons: It took me a while to figure this out, but when I'm running a screen sharing in another application like lync or webex, other applications start crashing. I'm running windows 8.1 and I have the latest and greatest drivers for the extender.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well

Pros: Needed a basic second monitor for an older computer (Windows XP), but also needed to future-proof it if and when we upgrade to Windows 7. This fit the bill, being compatible with both Windows XP and Windows 7. The price was very good also.

Cons: none

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent device

Pros: Just works. I tried another USB to VGA adapter and what a nightmare. I actually got it to work, twice, but the minute I unplugged the USB cable and plugged it back in I would get the error message that the the device was unrecognized. This was even when using the same USB port. On this adapter, I set it up on one USB port and, just to see what would happen, I plugged it into a different port. It worked like a charm. I am beyond delighted with this unit. I wasted so much time on that other piece of junk and had to deal with rude tech support. I do recommend downloading the latest display driver from www.displaylink.com to insure proper behavior.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy, good price.

Pros: Compact, fair price. I have no complaints about this. I use it at home and in the office daily.

Cons: Included CD doesn't always have the right driver. I've used this adapter on a few different computers and I've had to dig deep a few times for the right driver. From my experience, letting Windows pick the right driver is a bad idea.
Beware, installing the wrong driver (especially on Windows 7-8.1) will throw your computer into an infinite boot loop. If you're a low-tech user, I would be very cautious when installing the driver for this.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Product

Pros: Installed easily - Hooked to an HP laptop to drive a second external monitor. Dragging/moving windows is not jumpy at all, and the quality of picture is very acceptable.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsAcceptable

Pros: Installs easily enough, especially in Windows 7.
Works well and quickly as long as you aren't trying to use it for high graphic programs.
Easy to uninstall when needed.

Cons: It does freeze up my computer occasionally, but only whenever I'm running high graphic programs (although the programs were not on the monitor that was attached to this device).

Other Thoughts: Certain games (DDO specifically) won't open while this software and drivers to run this device are installed, although whether to hold that against this device or the programs themselves is up for debate.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as expected

Pros: Does what the description said it would. Haven't had any problems with it yet. Make sure you install the correct driver.

Cons: Finding the driver on the manufacturer's website is a bit rough. But, such is life.

Other Thoughts: ***DO NOT LET WINDOWS INSTALL THE DRIVER FOR THIS*** Download the CORRECT driver from the SIIG website. I accidentally installed the wrong driver (well, windows opted to) on my work computer with Windows 8 and had to boot to safe mode, reenable the installer service in the registry (WHY, MICROSOFT?), and uninstall.

5 out of 5 eggsLess money, Works better

Pros: Tested on XP and Win7, used on Win7 mainly.
Works much better than a comparable adapter sold at a brick-and-mortar store. Videos play on the monitor just fine, and no random signal dropouts.

Cons: - It seems all desktop icons on win7 reset their positioning on every startup, I believe it is just a problem with USB display adapters in general.

- Didnt test it much, but this adapter didn't work on Ubuntu.

Other Thoughts: Got it for $35!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks great!

Pros: It's small and just works. I have used many USB VGA adapters in the past and this is the first one that doesn't mess up on a regular basis.

Cons: None.
