5 out of 5 eggsAdded 3rd monitor to laptop setup

Pros: My laptop in it's dock supported two external monitors. Seemed silly to not have access to the laptop's screen. This device is working perfectly. I am now using laptop screen, DVI monitor via dock and VGA monitor via the SIIG.

Cons: None - assure you have a VGA cable as one is not provided.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Quality

Pros: ~No ghosting as far as I can see (Not even any lag).
~Actually plays movies with average quality.
~Quick and easy installation!
~Great for giving me that extra screen to code on.
~Great resolutions and color quality.

Cons: ~The only thing this product is missing is a faster connection so that USB 3.0 could be utilized to its maximum potential.

Other Thoughts: This is my first external usb video card display extender. I have seen these products in use before, but this is my own first experience with them and I'm loving it so far! Nothing I've seen in my 1 day of use has led me to regret my purchase. And I can only see the possibilities unfolding! I would recommend this product to a friend!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks but get the update!

Pros: This adapter works very well. Installs easy on Windows 7 and the price is reasonable. We have at least 8 different desktops all running this adapter for 6+ months and the only issue is the one below in the cons comment. I would easily recommend this to anyone wanting to add another monitor.

Cons: One issue I began to notice was with certain drop down menus that would work on the main monitor but would not work on the 2nd monitor (with the SIIG). It turns out this has to do with something called Video Overlay. Some internal PCIe dual monitor video cards and external usb video adapters alike struggle with it. I think it has more to do with drivers/firmware than what hardware you have. However, if you download the latest firmware and system drivers from SIIG it seems to remedy the problem.

5 out of 5 eggsgood

Pros: Very simple to install and to use

Cons: Had to install some software that came with it to work but its not work docking an egg for it. It was also expected

It is just one thing that SIIG can change to improve it to make it prefect

Other Thoughts: I needed to add another vga port to a computer for a projector. I could not add another GPU because all of the slots where used and this works very well. I installed the software and it works just as good as a monitor directly connected.

5 out of 5 eggsEasy to set up, works as expected

Pros: Simple to set up. Small. Doesn't get hot. Software receives regular updates. Just like using a physical VGA or DVI port.

Cons: Doesn't make me coffee in the morning. Refuses to go on bike rides with me. Centaurs are intimidated by it.

Other Thoughts: What more is there to say? It's a simple, low-cost solution to add a second or third monitor when you don't have an extra VGA or DVI port to do so. Sure, it takes up a USB port, but who cares? I'd rather have an extra 24" of screen real estate than a USB cup warmer.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked like a charm

Pros: Added additional monitor to a small format, low tech system (Intel i3, integrated graphics). Works well for using two applications concurrently on separate screens, like browser plus excel.

Cons: None yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat option for a broken screen in an All-In-One PC

Pros: It does what it is supposed to do
Relatively easy set-up
Works with "Remote Access" on Windows 7

Cons: Is not "plug & play"
Will not remember settings if you disconnect monitor

Other Thoughts: I bought this to fix my wife's co-worker's computer. Her kids knocked over her new HP All-in-One computer and damaged the screen beyond repair. Replacement panels were virtually impossible to find and very expensive. The friend works from home and could not earn income without this computer, but did not have a lot of money to fix it. She had an extra LCD monitor, but there were no external monitor ports on the HP. I was able to use this device to hook up an exterenal monitor to the all-in-one PC, and use the external monitor to use the computer. Installation was challenging b/c only 2 inches across the top and 2 inches down the left side of the original monitor were still viewable! This device is not plug-and play, so I had to install the driver on the PC first. This would be a breeze if I could have seen what I was doing, but I was able to get through it and get the external monitor working after a while. I use the monitor in "mirror" setting. I would have preferred to use the external as "the main monitor", but for some reason the device cannot "remember" this setting like it does the "mirror" setting. I told the friend to leave the settings just like they are and to never disconnect the external monitor from the device. She has had no problems and is able to do her work and pay her bills! The quality is not awesome, but for a work computer it does just fine... and really the quality isn't that bad because this adapter has a higher resolution than others. ALSO - this device has been known to have issues with "Remote Desktop Access" which is how my friend accesses her work server. The latest driver has fixed this problem for Windows 7 (and likely for Vista also). It does what it is supposed to do very well, so we were all pleased!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks perfectly

Pros: I needed to connect a second monitor at work using an office computer with only one onboard VGA port and too small a power supply to add in a decent two-port graphics card. This gadget filled the bill. I purchased it on a Shellshocker special, so it was an economicial solution for me. Now let's hope it lasts!

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks right out of the box

Pros: Small, lightweight, and simple. No power supply needed. Up to 1920x1080 resolution. Can extend up to 6 displays with additional dongles.
Wire and dongle fit easily in a laptop bag.
Downloaded and installed the drivers (Win7-64) from the website then plugged in. It worked right from the start.

Cons: VGA output, but I knew that going in. I will add an HDMI adapter later to see if it will work then too.
No cons I am aware of.

Other Thoughts: I have a laptop and have used dual screens for a while and have needed a third display. This dongle fits the bill. I bought this on special and will buy two more when I can budget it.
One is a must have, more are just fun!

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than expected

Pros: I got this for a ITX system without expansion slots. I didn't really expect much from it, just needed to replace a dual monitor system. I had CNC:TA and Netflix running on it without any lag whatsoever. Don't expect to play Crysis, but it'll do for video.

Cons: It does turn of Aero effects when you enable it, not a big deal.

Other Thoughts: I was running this on a fairly new Intel Atom dual-core processor. I can't imagine I'd get the same results on an older system.
