SIIG's DP 1-Port RS232 Serial PCI with 16550 UART adapter card is designed to add one 9-pin RS232 serial to your PCI enabled desktop computer. This serial adapter comes with one high-speed 16550 UART serial ports with 256-byte FIFO buffer to deliver data transfer rates up to 230Kb/s. The dual profile design, along with the included spare low-profile bracket, allows you to install the board into either standard height or low profile system chassis. The DP 1-Port RS232 Serial PCI with 16550 UART is the smart and cost effective solution to add one RS232 serial port for additional serial port device connections.

The DP 1-Port RS232 Serial PCI with 16550 UART is fully compliant with PCI Local Bus Specification, Revision 2.3, is FCC and CE approved, and RoHS compliant. It is fully compatible with a wide variety of Windows operating systems and is backed by SIIG's limited 2-year warranty.

I've had good luck with SIIG in the past and this was no exception, as the drivers worked no problem in Windows 7 32bit. I've tried other manufacturers who make cheaper versions of this type of device and have had issues with drivers, so I'll be sticking with SIIG in the future. Also includes half height plate for rackmount hardware in case you need it, which could be useful. Cons: I haven't experienced any problems yet. Did you find this review helpful?
