The StarTech PCI1394MP add-on card instantly adds four (three external/one internal) FireWire400 ports to your computer via PCI interface. Thus you can connect a variety of peripherals like digital camcorders, iPods, MP3 players and portable drives at up to 400Mpbs. It's guaranteed to work with both PCs and Macs, and supports hot-swapping, allowing you to plug, unplug, and swap devices with ease. Plus, the adapter card provides both standard profile and low profile brackets for adapting to slimline or small form factor system applications.

Nice card. Came with extra bracket for low profile. I use Studio One 2 DAW. Win7 64 installed with no driver install- windows took care of it. I put the driver in legacy mode as the win7 driver is known to cause trouble with audio gear (latency problems). Path: /control panel/device manager/1394 firewire card/properties... its on my other computer, so that's as far as to the path I remember. its on one of the tabs. Good luck! Cons: its not really fire that makes it go. Other Thoughts: yeah, its a trip, the sound heavy rain makes on the roof of my car. 3 out of 3 people found this review helpful. Did you? Some were obviously burned, but although this card looked OK, the computer wouldn't work until I unplugged the card. I used it with WinXP and Win7.
