4 out of 5 eggsGood Card - Win7-64 Drivers odd

Pros: Fast hardware-UART serial ports through PCIe 1x. Adjustable form factor plate and headers for 1U and 2U cases.

Cons: Expensive. Documentation could be better.

Other Thoughts: The driver disk autorun errors on execute. There is no setup utility, and no instructions on driver installation. Drivers from website fail to load properly. You need to manually install drivers from CD, then let Windows Update retrieve functional drivers.

Good card, poor documentation, buggy driver install, but fixable. 4/5 eggs.

4 out of 5 eggsExtra serial ports

Pros: Works well, adds 2 serial ports via PCI-E interface card.

Cons: The second serial port didn't work out of the box. The problem: it's attached via ribbon cable and the connector was on upside down.

Other Thoughts: Using the product on Windows Server 2008. Not officially supported, but works just fine with the Vista drivers. Startech's support was very helpful, but a 1 egg deduction for the poor quality control.
