1 out of 5 eggsnot a good product

Pros: This is very small and will fit just about anywhere.

Cons: This does not work at all. It gives a unusable format. I tried several different monitors. I tried several different inputs. Tech support says that I must have got a defective unit. So I RMA it. Don't bother just return it if you buy it. But I would recommend that you don't buy it. 2 "defective" units

1 out of 5 eggsvery dissapointing

Pros: Small and straight forward.

Cons: Horrible, horrible display. The converted picture was so dark, that even on the monitor / projector's brightest settings, I could hardly see the image.

I received and decided to RMA in the same day. I'm not sure how this can even be sold, it is really bad.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your time with this....

3 out of 5 eggsWorks but ensure monitor supports

Pros: Correctly translates 480p video to VGA, neither power supply nor unit have overheated. Has an excellent form factor.

Cons: Does not deinterlace to generate a progressive signal.

Other Thoughts: Ensure that if your input source is 480i, that your monitor supports interlacing, or it will produce a flickering offset image. Works great for a 480p input source, however.

1 out of 5 eggsNon standard output

Pros: Easy to connect

Cons: It won't take long before you realize that this product doesn't produce a usable VGA mode. I hooked this up to a Philips DVD Player, the converter made some output, but the monitor was never able to correctly sync. That is to say the image that went on the monitor was offset and fuzzy. Since there's no way to change the output mode, you should make sure your monitor is _very_ tolerant when it comes to video modes. I tried to use the converter with two different monitors and I had the same result. I would not recommend this product. I returned it immediately because it did not produce usable output.

Other Thoughts: Just read the "cons" section.

1 out of 5 eggsSeemed to be nice at first...

Pros: Small Size, Simple, Easy hookup.

Cons: Lasted only a few days, Power supply melted, tried a new supply and it started getting very hot. Something in this little box just isn't right

Other Thoughts: Installed in a Restaurant/Club to put satellite on VGA wiring to a projector. (Existing Wiring) Computer running videos already in place. The Converter worked for 3 days.
I will try another and return this one. Hope I just got a weak one from the factory.

4 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: See my first review.

Cons: One more thing. The box doesnt include any cords except a power cord. So make sure you have a VGA, component, RCA audio, and 2mm cord for hooking up your device to a monitor.

4 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: This converter is quick and easy to use. I got it to play my PS2 on my 26 inch monitor. Just plug in and start using. The audio seems to pass through well. The video is acceptable, but it definitely doesn't match the quality of just using the component jacks on an HDTV for my PS2.

Cons: Again, the video is not perfect. My monitor could not adjust appropriately to full screen, probably a resolution issue. So I just run with a smaller view, about one inch black border in the monitor.

Other Thoughts: Overall, it does what it says. I would feel better about the purchase if it were around 40-50 dollars.

5 out of 5 eggsWorked Great!

Pros: Plugged in cables and it worked! Running Set-Top Box component output into this device into a Chimei CMV221D (VGA and DVI inputs only, plugs into VGA input), max resolution of 1680 x 1050. After attempted to use & failing another device (not newegg - 1st mistake) to perform this duty. Since my monitor doesn't support 1600x1200 I was only able to run 720P @ 1280 x 720, yet the picture looks great. Switch between VGA and DVI via monitor soft switch. As with all my Newegg orders shipping was fast - ordered it Wednesday late evening and it arrived on Friday (3 day delivery - I was expecting it on Monday).

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Very happy with purchase and will probably purchase another for use on another LCD monitor.
