4 out of 5 eggsMade HP 4 Laserjet work

Pros: Simple, well made, fit my pcie slot, affordable, my old HP laserjet 4 now still works.

Cons: set up documentation limited, fussy set up, but finally got it. don't get a universal pci card if you have pcie slots.

Other Thoughts: built new machine with Asus Z77 sabertooth mb. Forgot that it does not have a parallel port so my old hp lj 4 printer which works flawlessly had no connection. I tried a usb/parrallel adaptor cord but couldn't get it to work. Bought this pcie to parallel card and now running. My key was to go to the device manager and manually browse and load the card driver from the included disk. Then manually installed a new driver for this printer in the add new printer window. I had to change to LPT 3 port to make this work. Not sure if having another printer on LPT1 forced me to LPT3? Still having problems getting my wife's machine to print through my computer on our home network. Guess this is the next issue to consume more of my time, haha.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as it should

Pros: Have had this card for 10 months. It works, it was a little tricky getting it to work as "plug and play" but may have been a software for the device I had attached. Using on Windows XP 32 bit for a stamp creator. Every thing works great and is a quality unit.

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent For Old Gear

Pros: Add to a newer PC for use with a very old MOTU MIDI Express XT 8x8 midi interface which has no USB, only a Parallel port. Works great under XP (32-bit) with MOTU drivers. Running Propellerheads Reason 5 and Record 1.5. Under Device Manager, set card for LPT1 and Use Any Interrupt Assigned To The Port. Enable Legacy PNP was disabled.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: NewEgg rocks!

5 out of 5 eggsParallel adapter card

Pros: My new HP slimline desktop computer didn't come with a parallel port. Converting my HP business inkjet printer to USB was going to be stupidly expensive. Opening up the new computer, I found that I had 2 PCI express slots. They're different than plain ordinary PCI slots. This card fit the bill and works very well. Switching to the low profile mounting plate, and installing it was easy. Be aware that you have to go into the settings and change LPT3 to LPT1. I am using it with Windows 7, and am happily printing away.

Cons: None

4 out of 5 eggsNice adapter

Pros: Form factor is ideal, delivers a single parallel port for those that have non-USB cable printers. Installed and worked well with Windows 7, 64-bit edition.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Gave it four eggs only because of the price. Would expect a single parallel port to be under $30.
