5 out of 5 eggsWorked great

Pros: Worked as advertized

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: We really nee to move to DVI on our monitors but these worked so that I could run 2 VGA LCDs one on this and one on a DVI to VGA adapter on a Dell 7010.

3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works flawlessly at lower resolutions.

Cons: Will not reliably transmit higher resolutions such as 1920x1080 or 1920x1200. I am stuck using it at 1680x1050, max.

Other Thoughts: Intel HD4600 video chipset. Dell 2407WFP monitor.

Maybe an Intel driver fault. Apparently they don't officially support converting DisplayPort to VGA or DVI.
With so many other reviews saying that this works okay, I'm going to assume the fault lies with Intel on this one.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes its job.

Pros: -Works
-Not too bulky when plugged in
-No visible lag or picture distortion

Cons: -Expensive

Other Thoughts: We have bought two of these so far, and they have worked perfectly for a dual screen setup using the DisplayPort adapter. No complaints.

1 out of 5 eggsWaste of money

Pros: Nice concept, small adapter, seems to be well-made, cheap.

Cons: Doesn't work. I tried using these on an Intel board with HD graphics, has VGA and displayport outputs. I was trying to save money by going with a vga only monitor. I thought it might have been due to the vga limitations (it wasn't a dual output, so the monitor is only analog). SO I tried it on the existing monitor that did have Digital input, and it still wouldn't work.

3 out of 5 eggsExpensive, but works

Pros: Works perfectly. Hangs off the GPU by a short cable to leave room for other connectors.

Cons: Pretty expensive for an adapter.

Other Thoughts: Bought this because it was the only DP to VGA adaptor I could find, but $35 + shipping seems awfully pricey.

5 out of 5 eggsdid exactly what i needed

Pros: Good part, plugged it in, it did exactly what you expected:
it converts displayport to vga.

the cable is short, unnoticeable, and is solid on connection.

Cons: none.

Other Thoughts: startech has always been my go-to for cable needs.

if you live in the analog era still, then you need to have this adapter.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks !

Pros: It works ! Plug and play with eyefinity and third monitor. Feels solid.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Trying to set up a third monitor with eyefinity (Asus 6050 2GB card) with cables alone. Wouldn't work. Got this and added and third monitor displayed insantly.

2 out of 5 eggsNot recommended for use with KVM switch

Pros: Works most of the time, except for...

Cons: ...purchased 4 of these for work in a PC lab designed for imaging. Was working under the assumption that this would work in place of the DVI adapters to use with our VGA only KVM switches. Video processing seems to take considerably longer using this product instead of the DVI. Did not work at all when going standalone into one of our monitors directly.

Other Thoughts: It would be in your best interest to switch out your KVM switch instead of buying 4 of these. Pricetag might be higher, but headaches will decrease significantly.

4 out of 5 eggsworks well, most of the time

Pros: This adaptor allows my Dell 14z laptop to use an external monitor since the computer has no vga or dvi output. It works well on every monitor I've tried it on, up to 1900x1200 resolution.

Cons: Doesn't work well on all projectors, just some. The older projectors and the ones that University of Cincinnati have the are controlled through an control panel don't allow higher than 640x480 resolution. Newer ones allow native resolution just fine.

Other Thoughts: I would recomend this to anyone. Dell was stupid and thought HDMI and Displayport were good ways to attach monitors to this laptop. If they would have gone with mini-displayport, maybe, since Apple uses it I could have found an adaptor. It took me almost 6 months between getting the computer and finding this adaptor (just so happens eyefinity came out a couple weeks before this adaptor). Digital out is cool, but only if your accessories have digital inputs!
Nice product though.
