StarTech Professional VGA to HDMI Audio Video Converter VGA2HDMIPRO

Pros: This device works great for our company because we set up some industrial thin clients with only VGA ports. Newer TVs don't come with VGA anymore, so I needed to find a way to convert VGA to HDMI. This is it! It works like a dream! We are running our applications at 720p resolutions (although it will support 1080p too!).

Cons: Comes with a cheap VGA cable. Had some ghosting which would not allow the picture to automatically center on the screen. I had to replace the VGA cable with a thicker insulated one. Also, does not come with an HDMI cable.

Pros: Very flexible input and output settings. Compact device. Worked right out of the box, as advertised.

Cons: A little more that I would have cared to spend, but it worked.

Other Thoughts: Easily converted "problematic" video source to HDMI for display on LCD television. I had to connect an industrial grade video source with limited output capabilities to an LG LCD Television display that did not have a compatible input resolution. The StarTech VGA to HDMI quickly allowed me to patch the 2 devices together in under 5 minutes.

Pros: Goes from VGA to HDMI

Cons: Over-priced.

Other Thoughts: HDCP!? How can an analog source be HDCP compliant? From the computer, it can't be.
