5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: Allows the use of a low profile PCIe-16x card in a standard-height chassis with a free PCIe-1x slot.

Cons: There is an open gap at the bottom of the bracket that would be filled with a full-height bracket.

Other Thoughts: I was skeptical of this device, but it did work to adapt an HIS 6450 PCIe-16x card to the PCIe-1x slot of an old Dell Dimension 3100. The card is working properly, as verified by playing back a Blu-ray disc at only 35% CPU utilization.

5 out of 5 eggsworks fine

Pros: Ordered this thing as my mobo, a Supermicro H8DME2 has only an Ati ES1000 chip that under Win7 has no option to access the brightness or any additional display parameters. I have a low profile radeon 4550 with DMS 59 connector, plugged the slot extender, plugged the videocard, it was detected by the mobo from the first boot. I am impressed.

Cons: none as of yet

5 out of 5 eggsDoes what it's supposed to

Pros: Does what it's made for. Used it to put a low-profile video card (made for x16 slot) into an x1 slot on my motherboard, since I did not have another x16 slot (I'm using two video cards in this configuration for triple monitors). Did not have any trouble detecting the card, and aside from the obvious bandwidth limitation of the x1 slot, there are no issues.

Cons: Outrageously expensive for such a simple card, but it beats buying a new motherboard for a second x16 slot.

Other Thoughts: Like I said, does what it's supposed to. Meant for low-profile x16 cards, you may need to buy a separate low-profile bracket if the card you're using did not come with one.
