5 out of 5 eggsFinally let me get my server and my UPS to talk!

Pros: I have a Dell PowerEdge 6800 running openSUSE Leap 42.1 and acting as a Xen server. I also have a APC UPS 2200, a huge beast of a UPS. However, the UPS's USB port is busted. I tried using the built in serial port for my server, but it is slaved to Xen as a console port. Installed this serial port card, installed the Powerchute software from APC and now the server and the UPS are getting along great! :-)
I didn't use it, but I also think it is excellent that this card can power devices that take their power over the serial cable.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: Recommend to anyone who needs a serial port for any kind of serial port application.

Pros: works just fine, used for serial signature capture device

Cons: nothing negative to say today

Other Thoughts: startech and serial port cards always work good for me, I use them in older technology serial signature capture devices.
