5 out of 5 eggsAdendum to my eariler review

Pros: Great add on LPT card

Cons: None as of yet.

Other Thoughts: I figured out how to change the LPT designation to LPT1.
It was a lot easier than all the googling and reading stuff that didn't work. Why people in the forums take 30 minutes finding links to post rather than taking 5 minutes or less to answer a question. This turned out to be easy as pie. Use device manager to disable LPT1, then change LPT3 to LPT1. Viola. Working fine now. You may have to re-install your printer driver to recognize this change.

4 out of 5 eggsRosewill RC-304 Printer Port Card

Pros: Finally got around to installing this card.
Works great on LPT3.

Cons: This card works great on LPT3.
Can't get it swapped to LPT1.

Other Thoughts: I needed a LPT port on the back plate. The cable supplied with the MB would not reach the back plate when plugged into the MB printer header.

Problem is, I have a software program that looks for my dongle on LPT1. Plugging the dongle into the supplied cable lying inside the case doesn't work because software program will only print to LPT1. I haven't as yet been able to switch this card from LPT3 to LPT1. Can't find anything in the Bios or on the card that allows port changing.

Googling it is no help. Everything I find leads me to the same spot in device manager wherein I don't have the option the directions tell me to select. Running windows 7 ultimate.

I only gave it 4 eggs because of this problem.

4 out of 5 eggsworks with some programs

Pros: I was able to run my cnc mill with Mach3 using this with windows XP

Cons: only works on with some programs when using windows 7

i was not able to get mach3 to work with windows 7 which is why i bought this.

Other Thoughts: this was a cheap gamble to see if it would work and it did somewhat.

running windows xp doesn't bother me but i am unable to have a successful install of windows xp 64 bit so my 16 gb of ram are not being used and it really degrade the performance of the PC. windows 7 64 installs fine but now i can use the parallel port with Mach3.

I rather not setup a dual boot of windows 7 and xp so Im going to build a new budget pc with a recent Asus motherboard that has legacy connectors like parallel port and serial port. It will be dedicated to run Mach3 for my mill and solidworks for editing models. so far it will be $367.95 with a decent looking cube like case!

5 out of 5 eggsDoes just what it's supposed to do.

Pros: Does just what it's supposed to do, which is allow for hook up of older printer via parallel connection. Had errors using a parallel to USB adapter and this took care of the issue.

Cons: None really.

5 out of 5 eggsParallel Card

Pros: Works like a charm on older printers with parallel port cables. Once again it is a Rosewill product and it works like a charm.

Cons: None at all.

Other Thoughts: Whenever I install a new Mobo I install this card so I can use my old HP Laserjet 4L mono printer. Rosewill Rocks...

5 out of 5 eggsworks

Pros: Works as expected. No problems experienced with the installation nor drivers setup.

Cons: The label on the disk says first install the drivers, then the PCI card, the manual on the same disk says install the PCI card first, then the drivers. Go figure.

Other Thoughts: It creates LPT2 and LPT3 devices in Windows. Works with Linux without any installations.
