    Consumer Alert
This television receiver has only an analog broadcast tuner and will require a converter box after February 17, 2009, to receive over-the-air broadcasts with an antenna because of the Nation's transition to digital broadcasting. Analog-only TVs should continue to work as before with cable and satellite TV services, gaming consoles, VCRs, DVD players, and similar products. 5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Works perfect, meaning it will perfectly display the signal you provide. I read some of the reviews talking about noise, check your coax or plug in a normal TV and see if your TV presents a different quality of picture.

We had perfect picture when on cable or s-video and a expectable picture when using over the air antenna (as would be expected due to this quality depending mostly on your antenna quality and distance from the transmitting station).

We use this in our camper with a 19" LCD and we were very pleased with both the tuner, and the s-video. Extremly fast scanning of channels for setup. The favorites list is a great feature and easy to use. I would buy this again.

    Cons: None for $60.00

5 out of 5 eggsSo much for so little

Pros: It does alot. I have had video edition graphics cards before, so I could pass TV/Video thru the PC, but this unit is by far the easiest and most capable little box to use, and for a fraction of the cost. Moreover, there are no installation or driver headaches setting it up.

Cons: It goes out of MUTE when switching feeds. That is all I have found with it that I thought should work differently/better.

Other Thoughts: Maybe a DVI pass thru edition in the near future.

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad, not great

Pros: Allows consoles to be played on computer setups. Goes straight to the monitor so it doesn't require any software. I've been using it with an S-vid connection to play various Gamecube and Wii games on a 20.1" LCD and it works pretty well.

Cons: Interlacing really sucks. Maybe I just haven't figured out how to have the Wii work with progressive scan but presently the interlacing is quite visible, as the 640x480 image is blown up 2-3 times in each direction. You'll want a good video connection (S-vid) otherwise you'll be able to see the visual inferiority at the high display resolution. No support for DVI inputs/outputs.

Other Thoughts: The box requires a VGA input in order to output a video signal. Presumably this was made so you could use the box to choose between your computer video signal or inputs on the box itself, without requiring you to have a dual input monitor. Unfortunately this means your quality will be dropped to VGA--this might matter if you have a nice LCD with DVI as a primary display! The remote is IR-based, which means you have to keep the box in view (I've been spoiled with Bluetooth and radio remotes).

4 out of 5 eggsDoes what it said it would do

Pros: Does what I intended for it to do. It lets me play PS2 games on my LCD Computer Monitor.

Cons: Menu navigation is a slight pain. Coverting composite PS2 output through the box to the LCD monitor yields a slightly degraded, yet acceptable, picture; but I knew this would be the case before buying.

Other Thoughts: If you want a cheap-ish solution to be able to play ps2 games on an LCD computer screen, this is it. If price is not an object, go another route.

1 out of 5 eggsDo NOT buy this product

    Pros: None, horrible product

Cons: First unit came dead on arrival, didnt even turn on, so I sent it back for a new unit, that one arrived and turned on but the image was broken and scrambled and didnt work correctly

Other Thoughts: After I got the second unit I called customer support and their only advice was to send it back and try again with a new unit. Not happening, I am never buying a product from SIIG again.

5 out of 5 eggsGood for what it does

Pros: -Can connect gaming consoles to it
-Can be used to with or without a computer

    Cons: -16:9 ratio resolution useless

Other Thoughts: This model isn't supposed to be able to record shows from. There's a more expensive version from SIIG if you want to do that. The image quality is as good as my old tv sitting next to it. Was a little confused at first how to connect it with my computer... it acts as a middle ground if you're connecting it to a computer and monitor. Surprisingly customer service was helpful and responsive despite having a weird system setup. Someone mentioned a humming sound.. I got that when I connected the audio line to my speakers' input, but then it was gone when I used the tuner as a middle ground between my computer and speakers.

1 out of 5 eggsDoes not work

Pros: It's a great idea. Small package and very versatile.

Cons: From day 1 it has not worked correctly. It does not tune stations correctly, as if the tuning band cannot separate input well. The coax input isn't stable, just moving the cable makes the picture go bad. Worst of all, it just turns itself off and isn't responsive to the power button to turn back on.

Other Thoughts: I plan on returning it to buy a tuner that works.
