5 out of 5 eggsNO DRAMA

Pros: Windows 8 recognized it right away without using the CD. But I still went to their website to download their latest driver.

Cons: NONE YET

Other Thoughts: Newegg is the best. I paid for and received the very next day business. Thanks

3 out of 5 eggsEasy install, great speed, but couldn't handle two drives.

Pros: Easy install, just popped it in, powered up, threw in the CD, installed drivers, and restarted.

Got 100 MB/S transfer speeds when moving from my internal HD to a 3.0 USB Toshiba 1.5TB and a 3.0 USB WD 500 GB external drive (at different times).

Three outside and one inside 3.0 USB ports on a small card is a good deal for older systems.

I think the internal port has some potential in the future in regards to internal upgrades.

Cons: When trying to use two 3.0 USB external drives at the same time (one was copying files from the mobo, the other was having files downloaded to them), the card would provide fast transfer speeds but would crash after a minute or so of continuous use.

The only remedy I could find would be to not tax the card or just use one drive at a time through the card.

Another smaller, more specific con to my system was having to rearrange my PCI X cards due to the 4 pin power cable that was required.

Other Thoughts: Could drive if you want to get the most out of your 3.0 external drives, cheap price, and easy install.

3 out of 5 eggsYou might need a power cable adapter

Pros: I plugged it in to a PCI-Express slot, turned on the computer, and then installed the drivers using the setup program. It seemed to install easily, but I am not sure it works yet.

Cons: This card apparently needs power from a Molex plug to work. My computer only has SATA power connectors. I had to order a SATA to LP4 Molex Power Adapter Cable.

Other Thoughts: I would think that computers that have PCI-Express are likely to have SATA power cables. They should really include an adapter cable with this board.
