5 out of 5 eggsJust what the doctor ordered

Pros: - Very simple installation.

- Drivers on CD actually worked.

- Actually works at USB 3 throughput.

Cons: Doesn't tuck me into bed at night.

Other Thoughts: Kidding aside, I installed this expansion card onto an older motherboard to make use of the front panel USB 3. Everything works, even double checked to make sure unplugging devices did not hang the system. Can't really ask for more when everything works as it should.

5 out of 5 eggsRuns Great

Pros: It works well with the latest driver sllc423e from TI.

Cons: Had to bend the bracket slightly but this is nothing unusual. Had to buy a sata power extension cable.

Other Thoughts: I downloaded HD SPEED software to test the read/write speeds and compared using usb 3.0 port to usb 2.0 port.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks

Pros: Works Great, makes my thumb drives operate faster than they do on USB 2.0 ports. My Corsair 200R case front USB 3.0 connectors work now. Device recognition is very fast.

Cons: Had to modify my SATA power connector to accommodate the edge of the PCB since the plug is mounted back just a little bit.

Other Thoughts: Works great, haven't had any issues. Wish my ASUS M5A97 LE mobo had the 20 pin USB 3.0 connector on it.

1 out of 5 eggsNo driver for linux - Misleading specs

Pros: Works at USB2 speed

Cons: I selected this driver because the product description specifically said that this USB3 card worked in Linux. This is simply NOT TRUE. There is no driver for Linux in the CD and nowhere where to download a Linux driver. The card itself comes in a package that features another unknown brand. Further research shows that the Texas Instruments chip used to build that card does not support Linux: [104c:8241] (rev 02)

Other Thoughts: Please do not lie. Our time and jobs are on the line. I recommend that readers not buy from this brand. We should all boycott the companies that lie to us.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It works. It's reading everything I plug into it so far (iPad, iPhone, thumb drives, wireless receiver for mouse keyboard)

Cons: After fixing my driver issue; no cons right now. Didn't really test the speeds.

Other Thoughts: I had some issues with this initially. Whenever I would unplug a device; this controller would be unresponsive. I would need to disable/re enable this device in device manager to make it work again.

I installed the most updated drivers from the manufactures website, and for now that seems to have fixed the issue.

I also paired this up with the VANTEC UGT-IH203 2-Port USB 3.0 Front Panel, Item #: N82E16811999246 and it is working great as well.

5 out of 5 eggsWorks as advertised

Pros: USB3 external drive 7200rpm SATA II sustained transfer speeds of 130-140 MB's; the same as using a USB3 port on an Intel Z77 board. Internal 20 pin for front panel fits perfectly.

Cons: Mounting bracket just a hair short in my case, had to bend slightly to allow board to fit snugly into slot,

Other Thoughts: Purchased this board to overcome Intel's decision to turn off USB3 driver install on Z77 chipset when using consumer grade motherboards in a server operating system. Installed in a WHS 2011 and USB3 works perfectly off this card.

5 out of 5 eggsproblem solver

Pros: words as intended. Easy to install. Gave me 2 more usb 3.0 jacks on the rear panel. 20 pin usb 3.0 male connector helped out alot.

Cons: 15-pin Sata power was hard to use cause all of my Sata power cables were being used. I had to get and extension adapter for one of my other cables.

Other Thoughts: This card was the solution to the problem I had with the pc case I had that has 2 usb 3.0 jacks on the front panel. My pc case has 2 3.0 jacks with a 20pin usb cable to motherboard. My motherboard did not have usb 3.0 onboard, but now I can connect them with this pci card. And this card added two more 3.0 jacks!!!
