1 out of 5 eggsWaste of money

Pros: None.

Cons: This thing is worthless, it doesn't work with Vista or XP Media Center, and the last software update for it was over 2 years ago.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: Small size

Cons: Doesn't work well

Other Thoughts: I returned this thing a couple of days after recieving it. It pulled in very few channels and slowed down my laptop. I bought a Pinnacle stick tuner and it's such a difference- pulls in twice as many channels and works smoothly in MCE. Do yourself a favor- spend the money for the Pinnacle PCTV HD pro stick!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: I bought the other KWORLD ATSC TV USB STICK, that is sold out.
This should be the same quality.
I am running this on AMD x2 6000 (It now costs $100 less than last year)
Do not run this on computers older than pentium IV.
I can watch TV on the computer and and do other stuff.
Yes, this QCAM works too, but I will use the Antenna

Cons: Have trouble with the scheduled recording.
I still have to depend on good old VCR now hooked up to the converter boxes.

Other Thoughts: Download the software from Kworld's website, it is better. And I had to save the channels scanned the first time, and re-scan, and save, and re-scan many times to get all the channels I need in NYC.

4 out of 5 eggsWorthless OTA Tuner - REVISED!

Pros: Excellent signal capture and functionality. This revises my "Worthless OTA Tuner" review of 7/11/2008 3:37:36 PM.

Cons: Bundled TotalMedia software has tendancy to lock up; fails to respond to Task Manager "End Process."

Other Thoughts: The original stick was defective. I figured it had to be as it was still picking up only a few signals even when hooked to my new roof mounted Channel Master antenna. KWorld replaced it under warranty. Judging by the complaints here, I think there were quite a few bad ones that went out. Note that this item is no longer presented on KWorld's Web site. Hmmmmm. And whack one egg because I NEVER GOT MY REBATE!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal

Pros: This tv tuner has worked great since I received it. The software that it comes with is decent. The only complaint about the software is that it is not very compatible with multiple monitors. When you click and drag the window it locks the mouse on the primary monitor. Kinda of annoying. Also, the aspect ratio is locked at either 16:9 or 3:4 --- not that big of a deal, but I like the option of being able to run it in "full" to utilize the whole monitor.

Cons: The mail in rebate took a while, but i finally got it last week (4 months later).

4 out of 5 eggsKWORLD ATSC 340U Dongle

Pros: Works great in NYC. Gets all the basic channels plus a few.

Cons: Software freezes from time to time.

Other Thoughts: Over all, I love the tuner. Works for me! Absolutely worth the money I spent. I use it at work...shhhh dont tell the boss.

3 out of 5 eggsNot for Media Center

Pros: Newegg had an amazing price on this when I bought it. It will pick up HD signals OTA (over the air) with a better antenna than what was included (Unless you live close to your TV stations). I recognizes ClearQAM signal using the provided Arcsoft TotalMedia software.

Cons: The TotalMedia software is a very stripped down version compared with their Theater version. I have not gotten this tuner to work with ClearQAM using anyone elses software. If you are buying this to use with Vista Media Center w/ TV pack 2008, any other windows Media Center, BeyondTV, SageTV, or MythTV this card will not tune ClearQAM.

The drivers have never been updated on KWORLD's website. They are hard to find, and when you do find them, they are the same driver that is included on the CD.

Other Thoughts: I bought this tuner based on the low price and should have done my homework. My computer fully supports the tuner and the 340U does work. My issue is that it does not work for what I intended to use it for, a HDTV tuner for my Media Center PC that will tune the cable companies free HD content (ClearQAM).

5 out of 5 eggsIt does what it was made for.

Pros: The software Totalmedia does what it was made to do. The large fonts are perfect for viewing on a tv screen. I used titiantv.com for the program info. I was able to get all the channels my STB LG4200a box gets over the air. It also matched the gov coupon DTV box I bought for my van's tv.

Cons: These usb tuners need computing power to do the mpeg2 rendering and dvr functions at the same time. The hardware needs a usb cable attachment. Putting a tv cable on any of these usb sticks is just too much strain. I've tried it on a minimal intel 2.6 box. It wouldn't show a HD channel without stuttering. It did show the SD channels as advertised with out stuttering. But an amd socket 754 3200 asus box with a 7600 GS nvidia agp card showed the the HD without stuttering. The cpu usage on the 2.6 intel box was ~45% on SD channels and 100%+ on HD. The amd box was ~35% and ~75% respectively. Tuners without mpeg2 decoding builtin just suck cpu power.

Other Thoughts: I'll be trying this on a dual core amd 4600 with a nvidia 9600 xt on an asus m3n78-emd hdmi MB. The builtin mpeg2 decoding of my gigabye 7600 gs card is only used by the players vlc, etc. The Totalmedia software doesn't take advantage or is not able to use nvidia mpeg2 decoding. These sticks(all hauphaug, etc) are using two maufacturers chips. One is phillips and the other is for a more devote aposile to find out.

1 out of 5 eggsKWORLD TV Stick

Pros: None does not work and very poorly designed. Received one HD over the air channel and one connected to cable

Cons: KWORLD lies and says that rebate forms are incomplete so they do not have to honor rebates for their inferior products

Other Thoughts: Purchase some other brand. Do not know why Newegg continues to sell KWORLD products when they do not work and customer service is non existant

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: very user friendly, just plug and play, will recommend to anyone

Cons: sometimes the signal is not very strong, but it may be I use it indoor, not a big problem

Other Thoughts: Definitely need a usb extension to plug to your laptop
