5 out of 5 eggsSimple

Pros: Shamwow!! its works! heh ;)

Cons: Could use a light on the inside to see when your in the dark.

Other Thoughts: add optical to this thing and HDMI and its worth its weight in gold! for real!

4 out of 5 eggsOk but not awesome

Pros: It works. We used it to bridge VGA on a laptop to S-Video for an older TV.

Cons: The controls are bad. The labeling is inconsistent. The manual is a joke...perhaps literally.

Other Thoughts: It works, but there are lots of limitations to S-video and RCA that make it look bad, which is not the adapter's fault.

1 out of 5 eggsJunk

Pros: It filled me with hope while waiting for it to arrive.

Cons: Picture quality is garbage. Absolutely unwatchable. I bought this to watch Netflix on my TV and there is no picture quality difference whatsoever in using this and running an s-video cable directly from your video card. The menu settings barely work if at all. Tried adjusting the pal/ntsc switches, contrast, hue, flick etc. Nothing produced an acceptable image. I knew for this price I wasn't going to get mind blowing clarity but I expected to get a viewable image at least. Not the case.

Other Thoughts: Newegg's shipping and RMA process is quick, professional and painless as always.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat

Pros: Does it's job, works great.

Cons: screen size must be readjusted every time you turn it off and back on.

Other Thoughts: the screen adjust gets annoying, thus the 4/5

5 out of 5 eggsAmazing if true

Pros: According to specs, outputs 720p over a max 576i interface! Truly incredible. Truly.

Cons: If it actually tries to push the resolution stated over s-video, it may fry your display device.

4 out of 5 eggsWorks Great

Pros: Ease of use, compact, and light-weight. True plug-n-play with no drivers or software needed. Reproduced on the TV screen what I had on the computer quite clearly. A video playing NOT full screen through Media Player did show full screen and clear on the TV.

Cons: Nothing out of the ordinary for pretty much any PC to TV scan converter: text is a bit fuzzy on the edges due mostly to the TV and not the box.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks but has color issues

Pros: I have a background in TV/VCR A/V repair. I do volunteer A/V work at some churches, and got a couple of these for a project. As most churches, on they were on a budget and studio quality equipment is out of the price range. Here are my Pros:
* low cost
* lots of adjustments
* worked fine out of box

Cons: *Needs external USB power supply (or 5v adapter) - adds to cost
*Text is bad - color issues that I couldn't get adjusted out.
*Need to adjust screen size each time power up (not good for permanent installs like a church that get powered off after use)

Other Thoughts: I ended up sending these back and ended up with a different brand that cost about twice as much. (Got them from Newegg) The second more expensive units were WELL worth the money. If you need a down and dirty cheep unit, these are somewhat acceptable. If you need something better than "C" grade, spend the money and get a better unit.

4 out of 5 eggsPretty dang good

Pros: Does what it says. I can watch video files from my network on my TV. Works so well that I am thinking of ditching my satellite TV and just going with streaming video using this device.

Cons: Quality greatly depends on viewing device. I connect mainly to a 36" CRT. Text is blurry, but video is adequate. I have not tried it on any high res devices, but I assume quality would be better. Using my current setup, I would not recommend web surfing or document editing. with this device.

Other Thoughts: The main output source I use this for is connecting my netbook to my TV for videos. I also have it connected to my external HD which I use as a video jukebox for .iso files. Works like a charm. I can backup my DVD's onto the HD and just access them as needed and POOF! They are on my TV. I recommend this as a cheap alternative to some of the higher end devices.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Awesome picture, easy hookup. Works great.

Cons: Could have had better instructions for the PAL/NTSC switches. Had to just play with them until I got the picture.
