Pros: The card works well. The best thing is that it includes a SATA-Molex adapter cable. Of course, you must use a Molex connector for power.

Cons: Not really a con, but the driver install was slow on my XEON Quad-core with 48GB RAM.

Pros: Appears to work with my new FreeNAS NAS using Asrock C2750D4i motherboard.

Other Thoughts: Bought this card because I needed more USB ports for my Asrock motherboard to run FreeNAS, which only comes with three USB 2.0 ports. So far, it works well! Had to use FreeNAS User Guide instructions to turn on USB 3.0 in FreeNAS for it to work.

Pros: Four USB 3.0 ports.

Cons: Depending upon the physical dimensions of the USB connectors, the arrangement of the USB ports may make some ports unusable. All four USB ports share the same PCIe lanes so that performance may decrease if multiple USB devices are used simultaneously. This card did not work with Windows 8.1 Pro. Additionally, the card thickness is out of spec making it difficult to install, remove and potentially causing damage to a card slot.

Other Thoughts: There is a difference between PCIe compliant and PCIe compatible. Neither appears to describe this card.

Pros: It hasn't exploded. This may actually be a con.

Cons: Stops working, crashes PC, destroys devices.

Other Thoughts: Note that I did not purchase this from Newegg but wanted to give the warning. I hardly ever write reviews but don't want anyone to go through what I have. I installed the card, which went smoothly. I initially tried to use this with a 2.4GHz wireless keyboard dongle and a WiFi adapter that I have owned for several months. After a few minutes of use, the WiFi adapter and keyboard stopped working. The keyboard dongle was fine after moving it back to a motherboard USB port but the WiFi adapter was dead. It seems most likely that this piece of trash overvolted it. Not only did this card not work, it also cost me more money. Also, my system was unstable until I pulled this garbage out of it. Do not buy this card.

Pros: Worked for a month

Cons: Initially I gave this card a 5 egg review. Now I'm forced to retract everything I wrote. This card is utter rubbish. Not only it does not work, but on any attempt to communicate with attached device it locks the computer so hard, that neither the reset nor power buttons work and I have to pull the power cord. It is the first time that I see an expansion card to lock a motherboard so hard.
Changing ports doesn't help, changing USB cables doesn't fix the problem.

Other Thoughts: If I was to give 3 advices they would be:

Go rather with slow USB2 than boy this card and crawl behind the computer every time you try to use something with USB3 interface.

Other Thoughts: If you want a 4-port USB 3.0 PCIe controller based on an NEC chipset (so that it works with Linux) you have limited choices. I can verify that one made by GMYLE works exceptionally well. Unlike the Sabrent. I wish NewEgg sold it, but it doesn't.

Pros: None.

Cons: Does NOT work with Fedora 19, unlike other reviewer claims. Doesn't work either with external Seagate 4TB USB 3.0 disks OR with Western Digital 4TB SATA drives in an external USB 3.0 enclosure.

Other Thoughts: The reason it doesn't work with Linux is that it uses a Via chipset, NOT an NEC chipset. If you want a USB 3.0 controller that works with Linux, don't waste your money on any controller with a Via chipset. NEC is the only way to go. While I had googled the need for a NEC chipset prior to purchasing this item, I was misled into thinking that this Sabrent card had an NEC chipset. It does not.My pain is your gain.

Pros: - 4 ports
- Speeds were acceptable. Not as fast as my on-board 3.0 ports but close.

Cons: - Lasted just a couple weeks past warranty. 375 days to be exact.
- I used this with external drives. When a port would drop out of the card, I would have to reboot to get the drive back.

Other Thoughts: On to the next one

Pros: Can't find any right now.

Cons: Could not get two cards to work in Dell XPS8300. First was dead, second would not recognize any USB devices.

Other Thoughts: Did not purchase from NE. Would not recommend this card for Dell XPS 8300. Return for refund.

Pros: The card works with Linux out of the box. No hassles with driver installation.
