3 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Works out of the box with min search of drivers.
Not using raid options.

Cons: Speed drops when using all ports.

Other Thoughts: Would be 4 stars if performance was better. Had no problems on Win 7 64bit.

1 out of 5 eggsASMedia Chipset Card is Bettter

Pros: It was cheap and it worked out of the box....somewhat

Cons: Using with an 8 Bay enclosure on eSata. The eSata on this card is just SATA I. Also, once you connect more than 5 devices, it can't handle data transfers well. Makes system hang for several seconds. Like the chipset can't handle the load. Started using tghe new Mediasonic card that as the ASmedia chip on it....8 drives, 100's of GB's of data transferred at higher speeds than this Si3132 AND no lag/hangs. This chipset is old and outdated....get a card with the new ASmedia chip. I had another Si3132 chipset controller card...same symptoms...so I know its the chipset, not the card (so not MASCOOL's fault...except for picking that chipset).

5 out of 5 eggsSolved my problem

Pros: I had a GPU blocking the SATA ports on a cheapo MoBo inherited from an HP system. This little thing hooked in to a PCI slot and hooked up the additional internal HDDs I wanted to use.

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works exactly like it should. I already had one of these in both of my machines for internal drives but I just bought 2 more to swap around external backup drives. No need to install drivers, Windows 7 finds them for you. Windows safe remove does not see them but a small little program called Hotswap! works great with them. Just click on the drive that you want to remove, disconnect one drive and plug in another and it shows up quickly. It has no problem working with my 3 TB drives.

Cons: I agree with the other reviewers that calling this a 4 port card is misleading. It was a disappointment with the first 2 I bought but I knew what I was getting this time. They should have included quick start instructions that inform you about the jumpers. Even in the manual they could have just included a couple of easily understood sentences such as "Default jumper settings are for internal ports. Swap jumpers to the opposite side for external ports." You can tell that whoever wrote the manual English was not his first language but is is much better than the instructions with some Chinese products I have bought.

Other Thoughts: 5 eggs for the card, 1 egg for the instructions.

5 out of 5 eggsDoes the job I bought it fore!

Pros: The SATA plug-ins on this card work just as good as the ones that came with the board. I've got 2 DVD burners attached to this card and they burn just as fast as the other two. My drivers cd wasn't broken and the package was in fantastic shape.

Cons: No! You just have to enable plug N play OS in the BIOS and that makes it work.

Other Thoughts: Works great for me!

4 out of 5 eggsNice little product

Pros: Cheap and worked.

Cons: Would be nice to able to use all 4 sata ports instead of only 2 at a time.

Other Thoughts: Setup was simple, did have to get correct drivers from the website, that was only a minor slowdown from a proper install.

4 out of 5 eggsFREAKING AWESOME!!!!

Pros: I liked the compact design and it runs on the PCIe 1X port which is faster than PCI. Set to internal SATA ports by default. I wanted the card for the internal ports but it is nice to have external Esata ports if needed. It worked straight out of the box and I had to run the mini CD after install. One reboot and I was good to go. This card works as a controller for a Blue Ray drive. Soon I'll check the other internal SATA port with my docking station. :)

Cons: It sucks that you cannot use ALL four ports at the same time but going into this purchase I knew that this was a two port card. Reading manual and understanding the placement if the jumpers is WAY difficult. TIMMY!!! During computer start up, another post screen is added when the card posts BUT I CAN LIVE WITH THAT.

Other Thoughts: Make all four ports (2 internal sata and two external esata) work at the same time and this card would be one H**L of a good deal. I'm running Windows XP for my OS and have not booted into the Windows 7 partition. I'll post something if there is a problem. Otherwise, assume Windows 7 was fine with this card

4 out of 5 eggsGood Item

Pros: Gives 2 internal SATA or 2 external SATA (NOT BOTH!!!). Since I needed more internals, this worked out great anyway. Comes with 2 SATA cables and only 1 molex-to-SATA converter (some reviews say 2). CD was intact (not broken as other reviewers say). Win7x64 downloaded and installed the drivers on its own, no disc needed anyway. Silicon Graphics drivers are most recent. MassCool only has drivers dated Nov2009, SG has drivers from Jun2011.

Cons: 4 ports, but can only use 2 of them at a time, making the "RAID5/10" branding stupid. RAID0 or 1 here. The RAID5/10 are likely carryovers from the XWT-PCIE01 (note 01 not 10) which has 4 external ports.

Other Thoughts: It's cheap.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat w/ Hotswap!

Pros: Works great in my XP Pro SP3 MSI 785GT-E63. I couldn't figure out how to make conversion from IDE to AHCI w/out trashing my XP install, so I couldn't hotswap the external SATA. Now, w/ the help of Hotswap! 5.0 and this great little card, I can plug and unplug external drives to my heart's content. I don't see any degradation in drive performance. Woo-hoo!!

Oh - came w/ two each molex to SATA power adapters and two (non-latching) internal SATA cables, which is pretty generous.

Full set of drivers and BIOS for this card can be found on Silicon Image web page, including MAC and Win7. No problem using them on this PC, and I expect it to be as easy when I put this in any of my Win7 PCs.

Cons: Bios came in RAID mode? Still worked for basic, though, before I changed it. Directories mentioned in manual don't match anything on the CD.

Other Thoughts: Set jumpers for the two external connections, plugged into the sole PCIE 1X slot on my mobo, and booted. Did NOT use (non-broken) CD from pkg.. Set it up entirely from Device Manager. Used the most current base drivers (1.0.22.4) d/l'd from Silicon Image web site, and they installed w/out an hiccup. Then, clicked for Properties, and found Tab for Flash BIOS; changed from older RAID BIOS to most current BASE BIOS (7.7.03) from SI web site. After reboot, was recognized as standard controller; no driver changes needed.
