4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Cheap, works great, has internal USB port for bluetooth dongles, etc.

Cons: Windows complains that my devices could run faster. That might be because of USB 3.0 ports elsewhere, or something I'm doing wrong.

Other Thoughts: Haven't checked to verify I'm getting USB 2.0 speeds, but I don't see why it wouldn't.

3 out of 5 eggsGood for older OS

Pros: Lots of ports, small size for good airflow in the case, very inexpensive.

Cons: Works great on XP. Installed on Win7 and appears to work for a while but then 7 won't boot anymore. After much troubleshooting, I removed the PCI card and Win7 works great again.

Other Thoughts: I got a good deal on it. I'll keep it for an older computer but I really needed more usb ports on the Windows 7 computer.

4 out of 5 eggsOne Problem

Pros: Inexpensive way to add USB ports.

Cons: Does not work with external USB connected hard drive. Began causing all sorts of read and delayed write errors. Took me a while before I realized I had plugged my external Hard drive into one of the cards ports. Moved it back to one of the MB ports and works fine.

Other Thoughts: So still a good value - works great for printers, scanners, mice, keyboard, etc.

1 out of 5 eggsNo Drivers

Pros: -Cheap
-Shipped Quick
-Small
-5 USB Ports

Cons: -No drivers on the included driver disc

Other Thoughts: I could not even get this thing to work. I searched the driver disk about 20 times for the driver and even searched the web for the driver, but with no success. Bytecc's website is terrible, it's all just numbers and pictures with a few letters here and there.

1 out of 5 eggsDoesn't work most of the time

Pros: It installed easily and windows recognizes it in device manager. Also claims to have the best driver installed by default nothing more needed.

Cons: All kinds of problems. Often simply will not work. Numerous things I plug into it just don't get recognized by the pc! I have learned my lesson, and purchased a higher quality product.

5 out of 5 eggsThis thing sure saved a computer

Pros: I bought a computer that a kid had broken the USB ports on. (Watch out for 5 year olds armed with screwdrivers) The owner sold it to me for parts for $20. I put this card in along with a wireless network card and sold it back to him for $75 and he thought he got a good deal.

Cons: Can't think of any cons. Four easily accesible USB ports is hard to knock. I have no idea how to use the 5th port but I bet someone needs it.

1 out of 5 eggsBAD customer service

Pros: Not much...

Cons: Can't find the driver on the bytecc website, contacted cust. service about 3 days ago, still no response...

Other Thoughts: really disappointed, looks like I may have to buy another card that comes with drivers, I can't wait forever for Bytecc to get busy and hook me up...

2 out of 5 eggsWorks... kind of...

Pros: Got here relatively quickly.

Cons: Plug and play with winxp, however if you do not have usb 2.0 ports already on your pc (like me) win will install it as usb 1.1, and the drivers on the included disc are not clearly labeled, I have not been able to figure out which driver I'm supposed to use despite trying every available folder on the disc. (Maybe they sent the wrong disc??) And windows can't find a good driver online. (Will check bytecc's website for a driver I can DL...)

Other Thoughts: if we could get Bytecc to relabel every file and folder on the driver disc so people without a lot of tech savvy can tell what the hell they're looking at; THAT would be great.

Pros: Plug and play. Installed, windows 7 recognized it, and I've had 2 external drives plugged into it since.

Cons: None so far.
