Other Thoughts: After 3 hours of troubleshooting in the end nothing worked, the drivers would not even install, kept Giving me errors with the install. and no found drivers, tested windows 7 [2 different computers]

Pros: - The adapter is easy to install.
- The adapter is mostly plug and play

Cons: - This adapter won't work for older motherboards. It REQUIRES PCIe 16x as other reviews have stated. It will still work with lower PCIe, but you'll get USB 2.0 speeds.

- The manufacturer should have mentionned it in the Specs or somewhere on the sales page. Disappointed in that regard. I guess I'll use it to add USB ports in a future build.

Pros: Allowed me to use the USB 3.0 ports built into my case.
Has two additional ports on the rear.
Runs as fast as my USB 3 HDD's are capable of, usually around 120-140MB/s (laptop sized hard disk drives) Haven't tried any USB 3 SSD's so i'm not sure they full limits of the ports but i imagine it to be as fast as any.

Cons: Don't forget the power cable! (it actually came with an adapter for modern HDD style power connection to the older 4 pin connection so you have plenty of options for power sources.

Other Thoughts: Worked perfectly, good overall price and value. Drivers were easy to find.

Pros: Works great, throughput was great.

Cons: Driver when installed only recognizes the originally installed slot. When I moved it to another slot I had to reinstall the driver. A plug and play issue of sorts. I didn't take off an egg for this. But figured I would include it to help out someone who might experience the same issue.

Other Thoughts: Got two to upgrade two older machines, both worked great.

Pros: gives my front panel usb 3 headers a place to plug into and usb 3 now on the back. (I have an older motherboard with a new case.

Other Thoughts: I have one glitch that is probably due to the fact that I have older motherboards----once in a while my plug-in usb charging devices (such as my mouse is rechargeable) there is a small minute pause or a freeze up of my screen. Software or hardware problem I do not know, but it has happened across three older builds in which I switched to a new cases.

Pros: It installs easily and is very compact. Seems very well built out of the box.

Cons: When plugging into the 19 pin header, the USB3 ports connected to it, are not recognized. Windows 1- recognizes it enough to know that you plugged a device in, but that's it. Will not read, mount or anything else a device connected to a USB3 port, connected to this cards 19 pin header.

Other Thoughts: I have an NZXT Aperture M card reader/USB3 bay in the front of my PC. When I connect the 19 pin header from that expansion bay, into the 19 pin header on this card, the card slots connected to a motherboard USB 2 header work fine, the USB3 ports connected to this cards 19 pin USB3 header do not. Windows 10 recognizes it enough to know a device was inserted, but not enough to use it.

When using a USB3 to USB2 adapter, the USB3 ports on the expansion work just fine, albeit at USB2 speeds. It's just connecting the 19pin cable to this cards 19pin header, they don't.

On the plus side, I have two more rear USB3 ports that appear to work at advertised speed. I have an use many other Vantec products that work absolutely flawlessly. I was disappointed when this device failed to work as expected.

I continue searching for alternative solutions that will in fact work.

Pros: Easy to install. Worked great with the VANTEC UGT-IH203 2-Port USB 3.0 Front Panel.

Cons: none. you get what you expect when you buy this card.

Pros: After upgrading from win 8.1 to win 10 on my 2008 ASUS P5QEM (Intel Q9400 CPU) tower build, I decided to upgrade my PC hardware as well. Installed this PCI-E card (Vantec UGT-PC345) that provides 2 ea USB 3.0 ports at the rear of my PC and an internal 20 pin USB 3.0 header that current mobos have. In my case I used the provided molex to sata power cable to provide this PCI-E card with system power. Then I replaced my old front panel USB 2.0 3.5" card reader with the Vantec 3.5" UGT-CR935 memory card reader that also provides a USB 3.0 port in the memory card cluster face. The integral cable on the UGT-CR935 then simply plugs into the UGT-PC345 20 pin header. This is an elegant way to upgrade to USB 3.0 capabilities. Further to the goal of hardware upgrading, I also added an ENVGA 750i video card to enable using a new Dell 4K monitor (P2415Q) at a 60 HZ refresh rate using a display port cable. Tried a 30 Hz refresh rate video card first but was not happy with the curser lag so went with the EVGA 750i card using its display port. Currently you must use a display port cable to run a 4K display at 60HZ! Careful!! not all manufacturers of 750 video cards provide a display port on their cards like EVGA does. I also increased my system DDR2 RAM from 4GB to the mobo max of 8GB to minimize chances of running into RAM shortage issues (DDR2 RAM is relatively inexpensive). Also installed an ASUS internal blu-ray player/burner (BW-16D1HT) and Cyberlink PowerDVD 15 to allow blu-ray operations. Note that regular DVDs will play on a blu-ray player just using windows 10 DVD player if you are on a tight budget. My rig is now running great and the 4K monitor resolution is amazing on everything from spreadsheets, web surfing, photographs, DVD videos and of course stunning detail on blu-ray videos even with my aging eyes. Remember that the monitor is 99% of your computer experience so don't skimp there. So glad I invested in upgrading my rig instead of opting for a new PC!!! Putting most of my upgrade money into the monitor and video hardware really made more sense than upgrading the mobo, cpu, and system memory that in the end would not result in any better viewing experience than I achieved. Hopefully I have breathed a few more enjoyable years life into this rig.

Pros: One of the few PCIe options that offered a connection to my front usb ports. Low price.

Cons: The card disappeared after a restart. I reinstalled it and the drivers and it worked for a while then disappeared after another restart. After several rounds of this, I decided to RMA. Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit. Biostar TPower X58 motherboard.

Pros: Cheap, effective, adds USB3 support to systems that don't have it or if you don't have a USB3 header you get that too (or both). Comes with a SATA to molex adapter if you don't have an open one for some reason.

Cons: Does not auto detect on Win7 you have to use the included disc not sure about 8 or 10. Not really a con but I had to write something here...

Other Thoughts: The only gripe I have with my ASRock Extreme3 motherboard as far as connections is no USB3 header. Transferred that mobo to a Challenger case that has two on the front of the case and needed functionality for those. This product was cheap, and it works very well.
