Good Card.
- Pros: Super easy way to get 2 more SATA plugs.
- Cons: My SATA cables have metal clips that snap into everything in my PC except this. Still connects fine, but doesn't lock in place. Minor nuisance. Will add another second to your PC's startup time, but that is expected.
- Other Thoughts: Works great.
Good Card
- Pros: Good inexpensive expansion card, works nicely with my removable hard drives, hot plug capable (Win XP x64)
- Cons: See my other thoughts.
- Other Thoughts: I have to deactive all external hard drives prior to booting, the card overrides my BIOS as the primary boot device, nice if that is what you need. My MOBO has built in RAID, which I use, but I need hot swap hard drives, which the MOBO does not support. If I forget to unlock my hot swap HDD the system will not (re-)boot because the drives do not contain the O/S. Otherwise I would have given this a rating of 5.
dont fear!
- Pros: plug and play! Mobo recognized at boot, Vista Ultimate 64Bit installed on logon! It's like a sore pen*s, you cant beat it!
- Cons: none, though wish it could split into 4 SATA connectors instead of 2. will have to get another one of these guys next year.
- Other Thoughts: I installed this card into PCI express x16, hooked up 2 more burners and everything works just as it should. Just finished burning 100 Cds.. seamless, smooth operator! Love it!
