IOGEAR GUC2020DW6 USB 2.0 External DVI Video Card

Pros: Drivers installed in 2 min, without need to reboot. Extra screen (3rd in my case) was configurable via both Windows control panel and Iogear applet in the taskbar.
Runs VIDEO with resolutions of 1600x1200 and 1650x1050.
Tested it on both i7 desktop with USB3 and IBM T61 laptop with USB2.

Cons: heats up a bit, bit you can place it near a laptop cooling fan.

Other Thoughts: My one advice is to run it through powered USB Hub (tested - works), it gets its power directly from usb, and the dinky newer laptops might not supply enough.

Pros: All I needed was a device to drive a third monitor for my work at home set-up. While I didn't need it for high-end gaming or high quality video playback, it does both competently as well. Set-up was easy and it plays well with windows 7 and Mac OS.

Cons: I haven't found any yet, but I didn't need it to do much more than run another display for work related applications (i.e. no games or video).

Other Thoughts: Why limit yourself to one or two monitors? These things are cheap, easy to use, and will make a world of difference with the addition of another monitor.

Pros: Nicely built, USB to DVI adapter is incredibly handy. Quality is better than expected.

Cons: DOES NOT FULLY WORK WITH MOUNTAIN LION. I recueced a glorious black screen (no video) when I plug in the device. Iogears website clearly says version 1.8 is mountain lion compatible. I encourage you to google it, you will find it is not. However, they do have (as of today 1/24/13) 2.0 beta drivers that seem to work well with 10.8.2.

Iogear: Don't lie to customers.

Other Thoughts: I gave this product a 3/5 for lying to Mac customers. If it's not compatible with Mountain Lion, just be honest about it.

Pros: This product has been used with a Dell latitude to enable a 3rd screen even though splitters and other "connectors" will not work because the internal graphics card is maxing at 2 screen.

Cons: Max Resolution is a bit low... but client is happy with it.

Pros: Easy video to install. Plug it in and if the drivers are installed you're ready to go. I seriously recommend using the drivers from IOGear's website and NOT the ones that automatically install when you plug the card in. Video is decent, not stellar but very usable, you're not going to get $500 video card performance through a USB 2.0 port no matter WHAT you do. For the price this serves it's purpose BUT ...

Cons: It breaks the nVidia control panel. If you're using OTHER display adapters/cards that are nVidia and have nVidia drivers this will mangle your nVidia control panel. Plug it in, control panel broken, unplug it and the control panel goes back to normal. This is with every nVidia driver I've tried including the very latest Beta drivers. Even tried a clean install of both the nVidia drivers and the driver for this device. This is a deal killer for me. Now this thing sits in my computer tool bag for testing video on machines I'm working on. I can't use it for what I bought it for, which kinda negates it's value.

Other Thoughts: I had an extra monitor laying around so I thought "Hey, why not use this to get one more display?" This is on a very high end computer with 3x video cards and 5 monitors already installed. One of the monitors on this machine is dedicated to my security cameras so I was going to move them to this device, which would give me 6x monitors. It plays the video from the cameras just fine BUT it breaks the nVidia control panel, which I NEED DESPERATELY to control the overscan on the flat screen TV connected to one of the onboard nVidia cards. This messes up my entire display configuration and no matter what I do the drivers for this device WILL NOT play nice with the nVidia drivers. Remove the device and reboot, everything goes back to normal, plug the device in, reboot or not and the nVidia control panel is busted. This fact relegated this device to my computer bag for video testing on other computers I work on. If I need to "swap out" a video card, this is easy to use.

Pros: The video is respectable. It will never perform like a standard video card, but if you are looking to make a simple expansion on how many monitors you have, this is a great purchase.

I installed to Windows 7 sp1, and it found the updated drivers on it's own. I didn't need the CD at all. The case is compact, and it also came with a D-Sub converter in case you do not have DVI on the monitor.

Cons: It is still a little chunky when it comes to the larger screens (in my case, a 25" widescreen). While video plays nicely, the areo effects are not quite the same, and oddly seems to stutter a little when dragging windows around. In my case, it is to always have my Outlook email app up, so this isn't an issue, but I can easily see it could be for some.
