5 out of 5 eggsWorks Great for Security System Splitter

Pros: Great price, small packaging. Worked out of the box, light weight and didn't get hot. Has a power brick so that it will maintain high res and long runs.

Cons: No VGA cables, make SURE that you order the correct type. i.e., male, male or male female.

Other Thoughts: I used this to share one VGA port with two LCD monitors.... Well, one was a 32 inch Tv, but same difference. Worked great. Used a 50FT VGA cable and it worked without an issue. I'll get this product again for sure! I feel like it was a good value too. On a side note, I have had (2) IOGEAR KVM's and they are O-L-D and still work great. They really make a decent product!

4 out of 5 eggsPerfect

Pros: Splits signal from 1 output to 2 outputs. Very good image quality across both monitors.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: You need a male to female VGA cable for this to work. Should be included IMO for the price. But worth the buy if you need to split VGA to 2 monitors.

1 out of 5 eggshorrible

Pros: cost

Cons: GHOSTING. I plugged this into 1 6 ft cable and I still got ghosting.

Needs extension cable not a normal VGA male to male

Plug orientation is weird, plugs should be on the side of the device.

Plug was not aligned correctly with plastic cover.

Other Thoughts: Went with the cheap option and now I'm out the 5$ shipping cost.

Manufacturer Response:

First, thank you for choosing IOGEAR and we apologize for your experience. The product should not behave as you described. The type and quality of the cable used can affect the picture quality and cause a problem like you are describing. I have not seen a problem like you are describing with the case being out of alignment. If you still have the devise and would like it replaced please contact technical support. Since the unit is backed by IOGEAR's 3 year warranty feel free to contact our customer support at 1-866-946-4327 or email us: support@iogear.com. Again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.

5 out of 5 eggsJust what I wanted.

Pros: Well, it works exactly how I wanted. We already have a KVM switch. Just want to make it possible to share desktop occasionally. So for the person, I get the KVM connected to the main computer and the computer need to be shared. On the shared computer, I used usb key board. The splited video goes to a monitor and KVM.

Cons: can not think of any.

Other Thoughts: Maybe it can split the whole KVM. Or like a reversed KVM where one computer connected to seperate Keyboard/mouse/video. So far I am happy with the video splier/KVM solution.

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent, but many cables don't work

Pros: great image quality at 1920x1080; great price

Cons: both this and my Zonet splitter are super fussy about cables. I bought 2 new cables, one from NewEgg and one from on-line bidding, but neither worked. Either no image at all with an "out of range" error prompt (on my new Asus 1920x1080 monitors, or else only a maximum resolution of 1600x1200 (on my old 1920x1200 monitors).

After hours of tinkering (swapping out the graphics card, re-installing an image of my Win7-64-bit OS, etc.) I found that one old cable HAD to be use for one of the monitors in order to get both to work. Even then, the other cable had to be the "right" one - some cables would kill the image even when the magical cable was used for one of the monitors.

Incidentally, I found that I only had this problem with Win7-64 bits. My WinXP-32-bit OS worked pretty must all the time (I dual boot). Swapping out the nVidia GT240 for an old nVidia 7600 did not help one bit.

I can't remember when I had such a baffling problem. I spent 8 hours solving it.

Other Thoughts: IOgear tech support responded promptly. Unfortunately, their suggestions - to try one port by itself, then the other by itself, etc., did not help. But I give them an A for effort.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Product

Pros: Works as described. No loss of signal quality or anything like that. Exactly what I was looking for.

Cons: None!

Other Thoughts: Make sure you have the right connectors or adapters (male/female) for the VGA monitors and video cards.

4 out of 5 eggsClueless

Pros: Product works great, no ghosting and the output was identical to when I had either monitor plugged into the computer

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: The only reason I had an issue with this was because I cluelessly bought a VGA splitter thinking it would split the signal into two seperate signals and give me a dual monitor with different displays, it was my own fault.

DO NOTE: this will only take an image and display it on two monitors, it will not act as a graphics card and give you a dual monitor setup with two different images
