4 out of 5 eggsOk tuner

Pros: Remote emulates MS IR blaster at least works with media center in windows 7. I tried loading the supplied remote driver ATI but that did not work. I did not get any HDTV channels until I got a Terk antenna. Now I get 12

Cons: The supplied software did not seem very funtional ATI theater. You should download the update if your using it. But you need the original installed. PIP HHHMMM not with media center did not try ATI software
Vista drivers for now.

Other Thoughts: I took an egg of ATI should supply better software. But media center works for me

For the person that could not get by remote detected install as antenna in media center. I get analog extended basic cable through a box that transmits on channel 3 so I have to use the cable box remote. Might be able to get the ATI supplied remote to control it but have not figured out how to do that. Maybe thats why Media Center says ir not found.

I can't remember if you need to install HDTV channels first then analog or vice versa but it is a 2 step process.

I did not buy it from Newegg this time, but it did not come with a fm antenna.

1 out of 5 eggsWindows 7 Issues

Pros: Analog works

Cons: Had to search a few forums to find the Windows 7 64bit drivers, and I'm still not really sure if I have the right ones or if I just installed vista's drivers. ATI website says they will be available sometime in 2010 first quarter. Device manager recognized it after driver install, but I only get 1 HD channel, my QAM tuner in my TV gets hundreds??

Other Thoughts: The forums I read said I can manually browse to the channels I know I have even if the card wont scan them, but the software has no manual option, it only lets me manually input the channels it found. I have only had it for a day, I'm gonna keep trying one more day before I RMA this thing.

3 out of 5 eggsIR Hardware Not Detected

Pros: It works in the preview window while setting up TV signal for satellite.

Cons: I cannot get past the "IR Hardware Not Detected" in the TV setup under Win7 pro 64bit. NO WIN7 DRIVERS AT ALL! No install CD or Manual was included in my box.

Device manager wouldn't show anything until I uninstalled all ATI drivers (CCC suite). With no gfx drivers I was able to install the device and device manager saw it as unknown device finally.

Other Thoughts: WTH is with this IR Hardware Not Detected stuff? I got an IR reciever device with the card and the remote works just fine, but I can't get past the selecting a channel part in the TV setup. I had to use the vista 64bit drivers from as there are no win 7 drivers. They say there will be drivers in 1st qtr of 2010 :(

Apparently you need another device to get this to work. Just great..

4 out of 5 eggsNice but...

Pros: Easy to install and run.

Cons: Be aware of your area and TV OTA reception channels available. I found out the hardway that in order for me to view channels, I would have to have a digital box from Verizon FiOS. This is an additional $4 per month to my bill. Remote is almost worthless.

Other Thoughts: Nice to have but I did not do my homework on OTA channels available and ended up having a separa box attached to my PC. Software is easy to use and loaded with other extras to use instead of W7 default multimedia programs.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy to use with WMC

Pros: Recently there was a sale at a B&M store and was able to pick this up for cheap. I really did not want to spend more for TV tuner card than thirt or fourty bucks.
Installation was an issue initally. I wish I had just followed the forum advice at another site - wasted 2 hours trying to get this to work with the supplied CD.
Finally just went to ATI's web site and downloaded the newest driver for the card and used windows media center (WMC) worked well for SD tuning. I then downloaded the TV Pack 2008 for windows and was able to get QAM uncrypted channels from the cable. These are in high def and the picture was FANTASTIC ! In conjunction with WMC and downloading the electronic program guide this was easy to record TV and watch later - really Microsoft WMC is the great partner. The card even comes with a remote which for the most part controls WMC.
Great buy. Would recommend

Cons: My only negative is not really about the card but the native WTC files WMC stores and trying to get them to stream to my PS3....

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Running this on Windows 7 (32 Bit).

Amazing. Using 1 tuner for analog tuner and another for ClearQAM over cable.

Windows 7 Media Center handles QAM channels like a champ. It didn't discover all of them, but you can go back and manually add them. It takes a bit of work, but I get every channel that I should be getting. You can even combine channel sources under Windows 7, so if the digital or analog source isn't available, it reads from the other.

The analog tuner is also top notch. Quality is at or above any other tuner I've used. If you want an HDTV tuner, get this.

Cons: For some reason, I haven't found a way to record off of one tuner and watch tv from the other. Maybe the card can't do this, but I was under the impression that it could when I bought it.

5 out of 5 eggsCard works exactly as advertised!

Pros: Card picks up analog and digital channels over cable.

Cons: Two connections per card. If every digital TV on the market can do it with only 1 connection, why does this card need 2?

Other Thoughts: In order for this card to pick up digital channels over cable, you need Windows Vista (or 7 RC) and a thing called Windows Vista Media Center "TV Pack" 2008. It will allow you to watch digital channels from cable in Windows Media Center. For some reason, Microsoft didn't include it built in.

4 out of 5 eggsIncorrect Specifications

Pros: I have Windows XP Pro 32 bit OS and the software that comes with this TV Tuner seems to work just fine. Installation was smooth aswell.

Cons: THIS TV TUNER DOES NOT SUPPORT QAM!!! For some odd reason Newegg has listed that it does support QAM but there was no way for me to watch digital TV through a coaxial cable. It did not give me that option. The only option the software gave me for watching digtal TV was to use the antenna. Also if you look up this TV Tuner at the Diamond Multimedia website, you'll see for yourself that QAM is nowhere listed for this product.

Other Thoughts: Make sure you check the specifications on the manufacturer's website before you buy.

5 out of 5 eggsDid what I needed.

Pros: I needed it to tune cable in my dorm room so I've only seen that, works well. Get the latest driver from ATI. Media Center included on CD is outdated, use Windows Media Center. Remote works pretty well with Windows Media Center although you can tell it was designed for ATI's software.

Cons: Remote not designed for Windows Media Center, not an issue for me, works with Windows Media Player and with Zune.

Other Thoughts: Haven't seen the digital quality on this.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works but not with windows media center

Pros: Digital tuner produces clear picture.
Radio output is decent for a pc.
Full featured remote.

Cons: Digital tuner not detected my windows media center.
Tuner is slow to change channels.
You must upgrade the catalyst media center to 9.7 for it to retain your settings.

Other Thoughts: When I first installed this card my registry became corrupted and it would not work. After a complete wipe and rebuild of vista ultimate x64 I reinstalled this card and it works. The digital tuner produces a clear picture but its very slow to respond to channel changes. The catalyst media center would not retain the settings until I updated the software to the current 9.7 which corrected the problem. All things considered I'm happy with this card and would give it 5 eggs if the tuner responded quicker.
