1 out of 5 eggsAvoid Diamond rebates!

Pros: Product works, albeit the lag is very noticeable on the second monitor.

Cons: Avoid Diamond rebates! I submitted my rebate request in December of 2011, and still have not received my rebate as of July 2012. I have attempted to contact the rebate department multiple times, and have received little responses, with most of them being the run around.

3 out of 5 eggsdoes a fair job

Pros: Haven't noticed any problems with running stuff from my laptop to the TV or anything else, so pleased with the unit when I need it. product rating is 4 eggs.

Cons: Diamond has been ridiculously slow about processing my rebate. they say allow 12 weeks and I bought mine before Christmas last year and STILL don't have it. Despite phone calls and emails, I can't get a hold of anyone and that is $30 I would like back. -2 eggs.

Other Thoughts: Would like it a lot more if they'd get my rebate to me.

1 out of 5 eggsNot good not good....

Pros: Not much to say about the "pros". I am sorry but I am baffled by this gaget.

Cons: It has made my laptop very slow. The video is choppy. The driver has made my laptop slow even when it is not plugged in. I did not get a minute of enjoyment out of it. I will never buy it again. Worse of all, Diamond MM has no updates for it and have made no effort to fix the choppy video problem.

Other Thoughts: Don't waste your money of this junk unless you have too much money to waste in which case just send it to me and I will be glad to spend your money wastfully.

3 out of 5 eggsMixed thoughts about this item

Pros: Great for surfing on the web and using my 55" TV as a large monitor for general work like word processing or working on several websites that I manage--provided the windows aren't completely open.

Cons: I bought this with the $30 rebate on 7/31/2011. I sent the rebate form out exactly 1 week after that. While I got my rebate, I didn't get it until yesterday--about 19 weeks later. That's well beyond the 12 weeks listed on the rebate form. It's ridiculous that it takes that long to get a rebate returned.

I experience some of the same choppy video when playing large (25-30 GB) video files from my laptop. I'll admit that my laptop struggles with those kinds of videos anyway. But, for web video stuff like Vimeo, Youtube, and the like, it worked perfectly fine.

I have never really been able to get the desktop to look right on my TV. I've gone through all the adjumstment procedures I can think of, but some desktop icons are just off the TV screen. Also, when I have a window open, menu stuff like File (with its sub-menu items) aren't visible. I have to resize the window so that it's not fully open. Maybe it's my like of knowledge, but I haven't foundn a way to fix this yet.

Other Thoughts: This unit isn't perfect, but works well if you're willing to finaggle the settings and your screen items a little bit. After the rebate, I think I paid about $20 for it. For that price, it's hard to really complain about it. But, any more than that price would have been too much.

Again, the rebate process is ridiculous and takes entirely too long.

1 out of 5 eggsThis is JUNK

Pros: Works great for surfing web pages. Easy to set up and connect.

Cons: When streaming Net Flix to my 37inch Vizio HDTV, the video is very choppy and jerky. Speech is out of synch with video.

Other Thoughts: Spend $25.00 more and get a Roku box to stream content. Roku works flawlessly to stream video.

ASRock MOBO with D525 Atom Dual Core processor. 4GB of DDR 3 memory. The dual core Atom runs at 1.8 ghz. Should be plenty fast. USB is 2.0 System is not over clocked. I have a dual core Atom 330 on an Asus MOBO running 4gigs ram and it streams netflix with no problem. The Atom 330 runs at 1.6ghz. Thats 200 mhz slower than the D525. Its not the system, It's the Diamond HDMI interface box. It just doesn't do what they advertise.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: This unit is being used to connect a relatively old PC to a 1080P flat panel display. Although some initial troubleshooting was required (see below), it now operates as advertised, and has a user friendly interface.

Cons: Probably not, as the issues appear to be unrelated to the BVU1000 (see other thoughts below).

Other Thoughts: When initially connected, the device operated seamlessly, producing a very accurate image on the HD display. However, after downloading the most recent version of Flash Player, and attempting to display full screen video, the image on the HD panel was replaced by a solid gray rectangle (although it continued to be displayed correctly on the computer monitor). After some research, it was learned that the "hardware accelerator" feature of Flash Player had to be disabled in order to restore the image.
