3 out of 5 eggs

Pros: When connects, Works fantastic

Cons: Has trouble connecting at times. Even though my unit is 10 feet from my tv, there are nuerous occasions where it says its connected but no sound or video plays.

requires discnnecting power to unit and resetting. Happens more than id like. Drives the wife and grandma crazy cause they have no idea what's wrong

This unit needs a pwer button, and the ability to power down with a harmony remote. This is its major drawback.

Other Thoughts: Tech support does not exist.....terrible tech support or customer service. Cant get an answer from them regarding pwering the unit down with remote or button. It has IR but its useless

1 out of 5 eggsStay away from this product.

Pros: Great concept.

Cons: Product does not work as advertised. But not only that, documentation is almost inexistent. No users manual, just a quick setup guide.

Other Thoughts: Stay away from this product!

Manufacturer Response:

These do work as advertised and they work great. It is possible that what you were experiencing was a setup issue or that the devices are not in line of sight. Please call us at 626-330-4700 or send us an email to for additional support.

4 out of 5 eggsFunctional, but tempermental

Pros: When it decides to work, it works wonderfully.

At the moment, I'm only using this product to send video from my computer, to my TV across the room; there is a direct line of sight, and the distance is no more than 25 feet; a cable would have sufficed, but it would have crossed over a well traveled area of the apartment, and I didn't want to create an unnecessary hazard. That said, the video has no noticeable lag, and the picture is crystal clear. I'm able to play keyboard and mouse based games over the connection, so I'd definitely say this product delivers on its promises.

Cons: The main issue I had was getting the transmitter and receiver to link. Once you have both ends plugged in, you are supposed to press (and hold for a few seconds) the "link" button on the transmitter. When you press the "link" button, the transmitter blinks to let you know it's searching, and when both sides find one another, the "link" light on both the transmitter and receiver are supposed to illuminate, and video is supposed to appear on the output device.

My problem was that the receiver end would light up its "link" light after the search (as if it had found a connection), and display to the output source that it had found a connection but that there was no transmitted video; the transmitter would stop blinking, but the "link" light would extinguish, as if it had given up its search. It seemed as if only the receiver was aware that a connection had been made, and as a result, the transmitter wasn't sending video.

Only after powering down the transmitter a few times did I finally get the transmitter's "link" light to illuminate, and video to actually transmit. I don't know what the cause of the problem was, but bear in mind everything may not work on the first try (it did however eventually work, which is what's important).

Other Thoughts: I bought the JustSling to play controller-based video games (residing on my computer) on my living room television. The primary game I wanted to play was StepMania (a Dance Dance Revolution clone for the PC), and I wanted to use my home-build dance pad through the wireless USB connection. Although my dance pad works perfectly when directly connected to the computer, it absolutely refuses to work when wirelessly connected using the JustSling. I also have a wireless Xbox360 receiver for my PC that allows me to use up to four wireless 360 controllers; it likewise works perfectly when connected directly to the computer, but refuses to work when wirelessly connected via the JustSling.

I've tried various "normal" USB devices, including a keyboard, mouse, and headset, and they all work fine. The problem seems to be limited to controllers, which is unfortunate for me since I bought the JustSling for wireless controller-based gaming which seems more at home on a television.

5 out of 5 eggsIt works... and simple install

Pros: Simple install - Plug and play. Comes with all the cables.
IR repeater works well, too
Great video quality - No perceived image/audio delay
Signal picks up just fine through walls

Cons: None -- At this price, it's a whole lot easier than running in-wall cables
