1 out of 5 eggswarpia pc to tv adapter

Pros: i can watch utube on bigscreen tv till it overheats my laptop and shuts it down

Cons: After 15-20 minutes of use it overheats my laptop causing it to shut down

Other Thoughts: just when my friends and I are starting to enjoy a utube video or anything it overheats my laptop and shuts it down completely,I wish I never bought this junk

5 out of 5 eggsWorks well!

Pros: Decent range, simple to install and setup.

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: We use this in our office conference room for presentations using Powerpoint. It works perfectly for this. Im not sure how it would work for streaming videos, but apparently the device is capable of this however we have never tested it as we primarily use it for showing PDF, and powerpoints.

1 out of 5 eggsWarpia 120A RevB NO WORK

Pros: nice appearance

Cons: The Driver install (before installing USB dongle) caused the Windows 7 64 bit system on my HP DV6-6047cl to become unbootable!!!! (tried CDROM, then downloaded latest driver) Had to recover windows both times. This is a fairly complex laptop, but really! Cannot checkout the product because of this. Almost lost my system disk because of this! bogus

Other Thoughts: Do NOT buy this product. Warpia, please fix your driver so I can make it work. I need this product...

5 out of 5 eggsworks for me

Pros: It's wireless. It's small. It works.

Cons: Line of sight

Other Thoughts: Everything came packed well and undamaged. I opened the box and found all the parts as well as a little card that shows how to install it. There isn't a big written manual but they hafe a full manual as a pdf file.

First I installed the drivers then I plugged everything in. That part is pretty easy. I didn't get a picture right away but the instruction cards says you have to associate the adapter that goes into the computer with the base thing under the tv. that take s acouple of clicks and then the picture came up on my tv.

There are some settings you can play with to mirror your laptop screen on the tv or let the tv be its own display. I like the second setting becuase I can still use my laptop for surfing the internet while my movie is playing.

The only downside is that if one of the kids stands in front of the computer for too long the picture drops out because the unit looses connection between the two part. When they say it needs line of sight they mean it. you can't have stuff in between the pc and the base unit.

All in all I'm very happy with the warpia and wouldn't have any trouble recommending it to anyone.

1 out of 5 eggsnot pleased

Pros: It showed up in my office.

Cons: This device has not worked properly from the time we started using it. The USB adapter gets so hot you can barely touch it when you pull it out of the port. The device disconnects multiple times during a session even thought the adapter is only 12 ft. away.

2 out of 5 eggsspooky... not for the serious

Pros: nice video quality
works as advertised

Cons: -no video game support... lame, but understandable

-ruined my video drivers, so i did a system restore. after a re-install (i really wanted it to work), i came to realize that it completely retro-fies "personalize windows". contrary to the start-up guide, the drivers do not seem to be compatible with transparency or aero themes (at all).

-causes my "advanced display properties" to crash (these become completely unavailable in addition to other advanced options within the control panel... even after you unplug)

-caused windows explorer to crash multiple times.

-gets way confused when you are running multiple monitors to begin with.

Other Thoughts: overall, i would not recommend at all for windows 7 users. great in theory... you could probably have a lot of fun with it on a computer you don't care about. but it definitely affects windows 7 (mine at least) very negatively when it comes to doing things other than surfing the net on your tv.

tip: really cool to use with the logitech "touch mouse" app for iphone.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Streaming.

Pros: I was given one of these units as a gift after my wife saw a write up about it as one of PC Magazine's Coolest Gadgets and they were right. I have been very pleased with the performance as I have streamed from multiple different places online. There are the standard sites like NetFlix and Hulu but I am a big cycling fan and have really enjoyed being able to watch the European races on Eurosport's live feed wirelessly on my TV. It's also very nice that I can stream a video to my TV and still use my laptop screen to be on Twitter, Facebook or email, etc.

Cons: Windows 7 was acting strange when I went to set it up but Warpia's Tech Support was available to help me get through the set up.

Other Thoughts: I would recommend this to a friend. It's a cool product that has lots of potential.

5 out of 5 eggsStreamHD working well with 5.1

Pros: Straightforward setup. Tech support responded quickly to a question

Cons: 30 ft, same room technology. If you use your PC while streaming and watching TV in same room it works very well.

Other Thoughts: Very nice video streaming product. Have HDMI to the TV and SPDIF cable to my receiver for surround sound. Streams very well which is mostly what I use it for. Also send Itunes to the stereo with it. Would reccomend to anyone for purchase.

3 out of 5 eggsWorks as Advertised

Pros: Wireless between my laptop and TV.

Ease of setup and use

Cons: 30' max between USB transmitter and base unit.

Clear line of sight between USB transmitter on pc/laptop and base unit.

Someone had been into it and/or used it before me

Other Thoughts: Setting this up was easy and painless. After installing the software from the provided cd, make sure to go to Warpia's website to download and install the latest drivers. When connecting the pc/laptop wirelessly to the tv make sure you have the tv on the correct input, (where the other end of the hdmi cable from the base unit is attached to the tv). It might take a moment or two for the handshaking to complete but your desktop should appear in rich 1080P resolution. Then surf the web, go to hulu, xfinity, youtube, etc and enjoy.

I would have given this 5 eggs but I received the unit with the seal on the box broken. After opening the already opened manufacturers box I found every individual component package opened but one. The optical S/PDIF cable package was still sealed. It was obvious to me that Newegg had charged me for a new product but shipped me a used/returned product. Everything worked so maybe someone got in over their head with this. But still, 'Shame on you Newegg'.
