1 out of 5 eggsEven for such a low price...

Pros: Easy installation, anyone with reasonable intelligence can figure it out.

Cons: Barely works! Pages take quite some time to load, connection speed drops drastically and sporadically. Even though the device is much cheaper than the alternatives, when I purchase a product I at least expect it to work even if it cannot perform at the same level as more pricey products. But this device just straight up does not work most of the time, and is not worth your time or your money in any case.

Other Thoughts: Just spend the extra money and get a dependable device, or even just a fully functioning one at that.

1 out of 5 eggsHas Packet loss problems

Pros: This plugs in witout a problem and gets up and running quickly. It does alright for just standard browsing but have fun trying to use it to game.

Cons: Has alot of packet loss problems. I have up to 30% packet loss sometimes on ts3 and other programs. It makes playing shooters very hard.Beware if your a gamer!

5 out of 5 eggsWorks on Mac OS X 10.7 and 10.8

Pros: Uses the Realtek 8192 chipset. Works fine on an Intel Mac Mini running Mac OS X 10.7 using the Realtek drivers, which are available from their website (www.realtek.com.tw). They also have a driver for Mac OS X 10.8. I get a 300 Mbps downstream connection with my 300 Mbps router, at least that's what's reported by the Realtek Wireless Network Utility.

Unlike some other Realtek-based USB WiFi adapters, this one doesn't require you to edit the driver kext so it can recognize the device's vendor ID. The drivers from Realtek's site work unmodified, which is great!

Cons: The Realtek Utility says the upstream speed is 150 Mbps. Download, however, is 300 Mbps. I don't know if this is right.

Other Thoughts: I didn't bother with the drivers that came with the Pivos, I just threw away the included CD as soon as I opened the package. I always use the official Realtek drivers.

1 out of 5 eggsPivos so sloooooooooooow!

Pros: It's small and cheap

Cons: I am using this with the Pivos Aios media player because all of the other adapters I have won't work with this media player. I had been using the ethernet cable until it quit working.(cat5e broke somewhere) I did finally get this connected to my router and network and I'm back in business---not! Yea it connects alright but way too slow to be of any use. It takes 30 seconds just to open a file on the media player from a wireless pc let alone try to stream or transfer anything to it in less than a week.

Other Thoughts: Was really hoping I could use this adapter for the Aios at least temporarily but it just aint gonna happen. The fault could still lie in the poor firmwares offered by Pivos but I did try several of them. The Aios does do an excellent job of playing files of all sorts from the internal hdd and the flash drives but useing the Pivos adapter is questionable at best--maybe I just got a dud......

3 out of 5 eggsWorks well when stays connected?

Pros: PIVOS AIOS recognized immediately. Wireless streaming of even HD video is generally without stuttering, looks great even just through composite video on 57" rear-projection Sony XBR. Allows me to review and play from my entire networked library from 2 different NAS units.

Cons: * Folder structure navigation is clunky. I can figure out where networked videos are, but I'm anticipating lots of complaints from my wife (or I'm just going to have to do it).
* PIVOS AIOS disconnects frequently from the wireless network and requires 5-10 mins of "reset" to reconnect. Not sure whether this is the wireless adapter or the base device. This is a BIG deal because no computer on my network disconnects like this does. (The device also restarts in an endless loop until you flip the toggle switch, but I think that's a device issue not an adapter issue).
* still apparently doesn't have Netflix certification ... this wasn't why I bought the device but could be a dealbreaker for some.

Other Thoughts: I bought this to work with the PIVOS AIOS device to stream my media library to an older TV that doesn't have HDMI. That device recognized this immediately (unlike the other USB n adapters I'd tried). I haven't really tried much on the internet yet (in terms of streaming).

4 out of 5 eggsit works fine

Pros: inexpensive, software disk provided if your system does not plug & play it. quick install

Cons: NA

Other Thoughts: Do not find it on some Newegg searches so it may not be catagorized properly. I have not done any rigorous tests yet. But am surfing Newegg with my new build PC that is in another room from the server where the old PC is still directly connected. Mostly writing this review because it needs some more reviews to give it credit.

4 out of 5 eggsNo Comment

Pros: It works with both my PC and my Aios media player.

Cons: slow................................................as a snail...........................

Other Thoughts: I wasn't really expecting much from a usb adapter. But this is kinda sad. Media play was fast with a direct connection. PC doesn't even get half connection speed as with direct connection. Oh well It was free I guess!
