FAVI Entertainment SmartStick with Android Apps (Built-in WiFi) SS-4GB HDMI Interface

Pros: Quick enough. Works great with FAVI wireless mini keyboard. Turns any TV with HDMI connection into Smart TV. No longer have that expensive monthly dish bill.

Cons: WiFi a little weak.

Other Thoughts: I have three of these and they all work great. I have 1 wired to router, 1 wireless and 1 wired to NetGear Powerline adapter to router.

Pros: Good speed, rooted firmware available from manufacturer! FAVI rocks! Plays 720p remarkably well. Android 4.06 is stable. Works with wireless keyboard and mouse. Price is good, no need for the 8GB version, just add a extra microSD card with your purchase.

Cons: As others noticed, need to remove useless applications but it's a snap with the rooted version. Remote control useless to me. Seems to play 1080p in emulation mode, so not technically full resolution. To be investigated.

Other Thoughts: Can't beat it, remember that it's only a few bucks!

Pros: Does everything an android phone can. Save your money, don't buy a smart tv

Cons: a bit slow, but it's only $50 and works as advertised!

Pros: I'm connected! Quick and easy set-up. I have a 73" Mitsubishi TV in my living room and a 47" Vizio TV in my bedroom. I plugged the device into each one and it worked great each time. I fired up Netflix without an issue and watched a movie. So great to be able to lay in bed and watch whatever I want on demand and check Facebook too...without getting up!

Cons: I used a remote control app on my phone to control the device, but I will definitely check out favi's mini keyboard - it looks really cool, and it probably makes it easier to navigate.

Other Thoughts: Being able to get on the internet, check e-mail, Facebook, and watch Netflix on my TV is something I didn't know I needed. There's no turning back now!

Other Thoughts: Apps did not work as stated. Forget about using the included remote it does nothing. Bought the Bluetooth remote they make as they suggest. Useless if the smart stick won't work as they say it does.

Pros: It is great idea. With a few software tweaks it would be really good.

Cons: Scaling is terrible. The launcher is not setup for a TV. The remote makes navigation difficult. I added a Lenovo mini wireless keyboard and trackball. It made it beter but lacked a home and back button so exiting apps became difficult. Not non tech user friendly.

Other Thoughts: This device has extremely great possibilities. Once they work our the scaling and launcher issues, this will be a great google TV replacement. They also need to work on a better remote control. It needs to be bluetooth in my opinion. It needs a keyboard, mouse with up, down, left, right, back, OK, and home buttons.

Pros: -Menus are fairly fast
-Comes with a long

Cons: -UI looks terrible, stock Android launcher would have been better
-LOADED with bloatware
-Does not display correctly on 1366x768 screens, stretches past the borders (even when the device is set to 720p)
-No way to change the home screen app shortcuts
-Putting in account information with the little remote that comes with it is tedious

Other Thoughts: I bought this as a Christmas parent for some family. I decided to open it and try it out before giving it to them, and I'm glad I did. It only took me 15 minutes to realize it was a mistake to buy this at all.

And then it hit me. All you need is a $5 micro-HDMI cable connected to your smart phone, and you can do everything on your TV that the Favi SmartStick can do.

Pros: Not sure here on the PROS as nothing really works that I have tested.

Cons: -Doesn't support hidden (non-broadcasted) SSID's.
-Doesn't support wireless N (every device nowadays should, even my old Roku does).
-Hulu is not supported
-Netflix doesn't work properly while scrolling side to side. Mouse just goes off screen so you cannot view the whole category.
-The device as a whole is slow. I put in an 8GB memory card for the few apps i installed, but they just do not work. Youtube is slow as well.
-Favi Support is terrible. I sent an e-mail w/ a number of questions and waited an entire week for a response. I got nothing. I even resorted to posting on their Facebook and no response there either, BUT Favi will respond or LIKE to the few posts of people who say they got theirs and installed ok...makes no sense. I will be returning this "Smartstick".

Other Thoughts: My internet is 30MB DL / 8MB UP. I have a Netgear WNDR3700 Dual band 2.4Ghz / 5Ghz. I am a PC Technician / Network engineer / A+ certified.

This device is very sub-par. I would stick to other devices for a "Smart" tv upgrade. This is far from Smart.
