- Pros: Works perfectly.
- Cons: Absolutely none.
- Other Thoughts: Downloaded the drivers from the Promise website and unzipped. Shut down and installed the card. Booted and pointed Windows to the drivers. Done!!
great product
- Pros: works great - with linux. Ubuntu 9.04 recognized it right away.
- Cons: Windows XP 64bit could not find a driver (not a big deal for me, but could be to some)
- Other Thoughts: I use this for my 1TB GB hard drive with Ubuntu on it, works great and transfers are fast; my windows drive can't recognize it - more of a plus, really. installed into an HP xw8200
Pleased as punch
- Pros: This simply worked. Fit and finish are good, it was seen by my motherboard, Windows XP and even a couple of flavors of Linux (Acronis True Image worked flawlessly off the boot CD). I used one port for a new internal SATA drive and my boot times were cut almost in half. the other port powers an eSata external drive and my backups are much faster.
- Cons: Not the card's fault but my hard drive light connector isn't long enough to reach the card. I still had a working floppy, but can see why needing one to load the driver is a paid, given this was the one time in 3 years the floppy was used.
- Other Thoughts: For an almost 5 year old PC, this card worked great and really gave it a needed performance kick. I replaces a number of USB drives with the eData drive saving power, connectors, and got much better throughput.
